Default WSOP dealer walkout.

It is amazing to think that Harrah's could have screwed this up. Although I am a leftist commie bastard, I do believe somewhat in the free market. It is a pretty simple formula. Generous Compensation + High Standards = Quality Product.

In this case, don't around and pay them well.

It would be VERY interesting to hear the truth as told by both sides. Harrahs has been known to be tight with a buck.

Several people that I know, at least casually that are there for the WSOP are saying the dealers are inexperienced at best and in some cases unqualified to do the job.

Either side could be to blame here.

I got some info from the comments section of todays post at the . I don't think I can quote the poster here (but his seems legit) but paraphrasing it says basically

"From dealer friends, they hired randomly X number of dealers from the application pool, with the rest being offered standby positions.

There are dealers in the WSOP this year that have never dealt a single live hand previously.

Lots quality dealers told them to get fucked over the selection process, so the standby list is probably crap too."

What is the standard tip out % at the WSOP ME?

Unless Im off (or not realizing exactly how many dealers are needed), Im thinking they'll be taken care of....

I am not sure about this year, but in the past I think they have pooled everything and paid by a percentage worked system (so the that folks that deal the less valuable events don't get screwed).

For those history buffs out there, the system is similar to how payout was distributed on New England whaling boats. (sorry about this, but I just finished and wanted to brag).

Let's just say that the tips add up to $500,000 (I'm just picking a number). With 500 dealers working (picking another number), that's only $1000 a head. Sure, $1000 is a nice tip, but for 6 weeks of work?

And I think my numbers may be generous. I believe people tip less now that money is withheld specifically for the dealers.
