Big balls with AK in a tourney?
1. Are you willing to all the way PF with AK at the beginning of a NL tourney?
2. Are you willing to all the way PF with AK, with lets say 30xBB in a NL tourney? 3. Are you willing to all the way PF with AK, with lets say 10xBB in a NL tourney? 4. Sick of my questions yet? |

by this im guessing you mean push in preflop.
1, depends on table action, but probably not 2. probably, depending on table action, and reads 3. Hell yes 4. Hell yes |

Damn it's obvious that I cut and pasted most of my post. Because otherwise we're talking 3 of the same typos in row. Even I'm not that stupid, but that's IMO. later.
BTW you suck eejit. |

I'll address the first question and I'm sure I am wrong (usually am) but if I'm playing in a big event then I will wait for a better spot, if it's my average buy-in within my bankroll then I will push pre-flop with AK if there has been any raise in front of me, in a regular tourney the value of a big stack early is huge IMO.
If there has been no action in front of me then I will raise much more than the standard 3x and be willing to push if I get re-raised.

Yup, it depends. SNG, MTT, freeroll, winner take all tourney, rebuy, how many raises in front of me, blind structure.... I could go on and on.

I guess I'm too simple TP, because I usually play the same no matter what it costs me to get in a tourney. Except maybe the freeroll, yes I take lots of chances in a freeroll.
I personally won't usually push or call an allin early in a tourney with AK. With 30xBB, no I'm not calling either. But 10xBB, I'm rocking one way or the other. That's my game but hey, who am I to argue with a man of your skills TP. I play the standard 3 to 4xBB rule with it normally. I'm just not willing to put all my chips in with TPTK draw, whether it be SNG or MTT early on. I'm still learning. Yea Rob, when I signed up I didn't realize that I had to work. Dumb move. I was going to get my Bro to play in my place but I forgot that too. My memory sucks lately. I've also missed countless TPFLII's lately because of this memory. I think I might have to stay up late tonight. I at least have to try to get back into the TOC before it's over. |

Let me give you an example...
Situation #1: WSOP Main Event. Blinds are 25/50 and you have 10k in your stack. The pot is raised and reraised in front of you, you flat call, the first raiser pushed in and the reraiser calls. Situation #2: UB WSOP Freeroll. Winner take all. 850ish players registered. First prize is a WSOP ME seat. 2nd place gets a friendly "Nice try, kid." The players fold around to you on the button, you raise, and the BB pushes in. Situation #3: $11 Turbo Single table SNG, 6 max. The players fold around to you on the button, you raise, and the BB pushes in. Even though you have AK and it's the first hand in all of them, surely you can see how those are NOT the same situation, right? |
