This is do-able for extremely high-volume big $ players, but my guess is that they are asking for trouble in structuring the promo this way, especially since points don't show in real time. And the crazy part is that it is not an automatic award. To receive your seat, you have to email them. That's where things will break down quickly.

Will they judge by the time stamp of the emails? Will they be able to verify that the emailers had 50k at the time of the email? Did they think of these before they rolled out the promo?

The promo requires you to earn 25k in the promo period, and pay 50k for the seat. So, you have to already have 25k, not 50k, to participate.
