I've noticed some players have a tiny star on top of their picture avatar, those players are from .net instead of .com, right?

Am I allowed having a different account in .net? If not, why go to .net when you can go to .com? I don't quite understand why there are two of the same sites.

Because it's illegal in the US to promote online gambling sites. Thus, most poker rooms have the ".net" play money thing.
