Default Turbo SNGs

I recently found myself with 20$ at pokerstars (owed from a friend), and i see that the only 1 table SNGs that they have for low bankrolls are the 5.50$ ones (too high for me), and the 3.40$ turbo SNGs. I ventured into one of these the other day, and realized it was a HUGE crapshoot. After a couple ( yes a couple) of hands, blinds were up. I placed in 4th after my AK ran into the monster K9 lol. I know i am underbankrolled ( even though I have some more $ to put in at a later time), but I know that I can take them down.

Soo the question is any tips for turbo SNGs?

Play tight in the beginning, but play your good hands aggressively. In the later rounds, unless you are blessed with a great deck, you'll need to steal blinds generally 1x orbit. Cards don't matter, just make sure you're the first one to open. (Preferably in late position.) 200/400 is, many times, the turning point of a turbo STT (esp. turbo).

If you are able to win a few of these, and you are confident enough in a normal $5/.50 SNG, switch over.

If it's folded to you in the SB, and either you or the BB have less than 10 big blinds, push.

I really don't enjoy turbos as they just seem to turn into a card catching contest in the end. If you have better than average skill I would avoid them.

Turbos are the only single table sng's that I play. They are very mechanical and at the $15 and $25 level are very easy to do well at. While there isn't much "skill", since after 25 minutes or so it becomes an all-in fest, people that aren't used to how they play are sitting ducks. I like them as I find them easier to play while playing cash games since they go fairly quickly. The regular sng's seem too slow at least at the single table level and if you are a winning player the more sng's you play the more money you make.
