I think that was some of the worst penalties in a Super Bowl in a long time. The refs took away atleast 14 pts. from Seattle.

Default Great season, disappointing ending

Thanks for asking.

Certainly, the officiating sucked. I was actually much more upset about Djack’s phantom push-off than I was about Roethlisberger phantom TD, which admittedly could have gone either way. Djack’s TD, on the other hand, was 100% clean.

But the NFL has had lousy officiating all year, and great teams overcome it. And though the Hawks might be a great team, they certainly didn’t play a great game. You can’t win a Superbowl w/ poor execution and miscommunication. The Steelers got it done. Seattle did not.

I’ve watched the team all year long, and this was one of the worst games they’ve played. It’s sad to see it happen when it mattered most. But even a disappointing end can’t take away from a phenomenal season by a team that exceeded all expectations.

In the meantime, go Sonics!

You must be either blind or retarded. How can you say the touchdown was 100% clean. I mean wow. He clearly pushed off, and all throughout the year refs make a lot worse calls on the defense for pass interfence. I was so glad a referee fnally called PI on the offense.

Michael Smith on Around The Horn brought up the perfect point. Once the quarterback has broken the pocket, illegal contact is out the window
