Default "Online Poker 101: A Losing Lesson"

So I open my Philadelphia Inquirer today and read across the top: "Sunday's Inquirer-Online Poker 101: A Losing Lesson."

Looking forward to this one, but I'm wondering if it will reveal anything we don't already know. I'm sure if you link on sometime tomorrow the story will be up. It would be nice to get some comments here on it.

I don't see that article, but I do see this one:

If you find it, give us a link. Otherwise, let us know what it was about...

I'll post on this sometime this afternoon. I'm too tired right now to say anything. Have fun reading ...

Default Pretty typical

This article is basically like every article about online gambling I've ever read, they interview a winnner who is probably not very good ("I don't want to count on cards for rent," he said. "I've figured out you're not always going to win."). Then they interview fish A who lost all of his college tuition money and is attending GA, then they interview fish B who can't break the habit and who despite all of his shortcomings realizes that he has a problem and is trying to break the cycle. Then they're is the pro player who talks about how great poker is but that some people just don't have the disipline to do it. These things are very cookie cutter, check out the SI article from a while ago, the same article with different names.

hee hee: "I don't want an audit" says Kent, who didn't want his full name used. Yeah, that's great and all, Patricia (the author of the article). Hide your sources identity. I hope you enjoy those first amendment rights you protect as the IRS crawls up YOUR ass just for fun...

I can just see the convo at the IRS:
Guy1: "Hey, look at this article. These guys are making a killing."
2: {reads article}"Doesn't want an audit eh? Okay, but let's see. This other guy used his full name..." {clickity click} "ooh. no gambling income delcared" {places checkmark in 'Must Audit' box}
1: "Oh hey, look at this - the author seems to be squeaky clean. Let's see how clean..." {checkity check}

hehe. Methinks the author wasn't very intelligent in this one. She's probably new, and young...She'll learn....after the IRS is done with its laproscopy...
