one-outer on final table of fulltilt WPT/WSOP(C) winner's choice tourney...
9 of 148. top 2 get a WPT/WSOPC package of their choice. 3-6 get a decent amount of coins...so close and then this...it all happened just about an hr ago or so...im still a tad dazed and in no mood for bed just yet.
eff it, ill just attach the screenshot...see attached and laugh out loud... (one person said they folded a Q, so the lucky guy hit his case lady on the flop) just my luck. as usual. Last edited by BDMK; 01-25-06 at 02:51 AM. |

That sucks.
This won't make you feel any better, but that's not REALLY a one outer. I mean, it is, but he had 5 chances to hit it. And there are other ways he could have won the hand too, like by making a straight or a flush. It happens. But yes, you were a pretty big favorite to win that hand. Without actually running the numbers, I'll guess you were a solid 90% favorite... |

Man... just rereading this now - the payouts and whatnot. That sure does sting.

Closer to 80/20 preflop, or 90/10 lose on the flop...
Depends where all the money went in. How did you get so far without couting "All" the outs? As TP already said, it's not a 1 outer... Does suck though... Tough one. Edit to add: I ran the numbers cuz 90 fave sounded way too off.

Did you take into account that one of the remaining queens was gone? I was considering that with my estimate...

Did not......
So when did the money go in?

We have to assume preflop, or there would really be nothing to complain about. And given the stack sizes of the two players in the hand, I don't see how it wouldn't have gone all in preflop given their hole cards.

yeah, sorry, i was again, a tad dazed last night, and didnt explain the hand.
this took place just after we reached final table. we did go allin preflop. the gent in question and i at that point were both at cca 15k in chips, with an M of cca 5-6 or so, in 6th and 7th place at the time. he raised cca 3xBB, and i just reraised him allin on the spot, everyone else getting out of the way. pockets get turned up, one other person on the table says: "oh, i folded a Q". then the flop hits, and i feel like in one of those cliched movie scenes when everything slows down around u before, or right after, a big explosion. i know, strictly technically speaking it may not be a one-outer as there would have been a chance of a freak straight or flush on the board. in fact, id much rather have seen that, to tell u the truth. anywho, now that ive slept on it, all i can say is, c'est la vie, ill be back in the WC as early as this saturday. btw, been playing on FTP now for almost a month since transferring over from stars, and im loving it. IMHO much more serious tourney NLHE poker at all levels, esp my favorite cheap WPT/WSOP entry sats. this was in fact my third WC (didnt do bad first two times, cca in top 20%). overall, i can now continue to learn and improve my game after escaping all that useless rebuy roulette nonsense on stars. i qualified thru a $6 sat.
fulltilt has a great 2-tier, *non-rebuy-non-turbo*, sat structure for big events (WPT/WSOP/big guaranteed)...$4/$6-->$26-->$216 (WPT/WSOP qualifier or the weekly/monthly 'big' cash guaranteed) thats REAL tourney NLHE poker, not turbo/rebuy slots bullcrap. im just kicking myself for having wasted my last (first in poker) year on stars et al...i should have been playing on fulltilt right from the get-go. |

well, this is just funny...
on tonite's winner's choice final table, the very same guy who sucked out one me with the case Q on tuesday's WC final table, was now in the short stack again and pushed with KK... the big stack to the left calls him with QQ and flops trip ladies. poker works in mysterious ways. |
