Fun factor was HIGH.

Bankroll decimation was even HIGHER. Ugh, -$1350. Time to rebuild the live roll. Oddly, the online roll is at its all-time high.

Damn blood... But chalk it up to entertainment costs. How is the live "show" bankroll holding up after the trip? Leave some at Speariment Rhino?

Yes, give us some vague details, at least. Some of us are WAY too lazy to actually visit your blog more than once a month or so

I totally wish I could say I spent some of that money at the Spearmint Rhino.

Sadly, I didn't even go.

Basically for the second half of day 1 and the entirety of day 2, I played horrible poker. I was second best for a bunch of hands and then got rather aggressive on draws that never hit. Once I pushed with 14 outs twice and once I pushed with 12-outs twice. Neither hit.

Then on day 3, when I resolved to play better, I was brutalized by 3 and 4 outers. It seemed as though it was a conspiracy.

The saving grace was my final poker session at the Excalibur when I was at a table with a bunch of bloggers, Wil Wheaton, and Michael Craig - the author of The Professor, The Banker and the Billionaire.

Not only did I post a winning session, but I had perhaps the most fun I've ever had at a poker table. It cheered me up a bit, but still the $1300+ loss is tough to swallow.

It's not really the monetary loss that hurts, but rather it's the time that it's going to take to rebuild my bankroll by that much. Based on previous history, it's about a 4-month hit. Four months is a long time and it's discouraging to know I'll be playing catch up for a while.

But that's poker and it's my job to simply play the best I can whenever I sit down. Admittedly, that's going to be easier said than done, but each new poker experience brings a new challenge.

You write well. Good grammar, excellent vocabulary... Hey, gotta give credit where it's due. I would suggest to "put the $1300 loss behind you," and concentrate on the future w/ better decisions and (hopefully) better sessions - but something tells me you're not an idiot.

GL rebuilding. It happens.

Thanks Aeq. My patience for the game ebbs and flows. I need to display it on a much grander scale for the next few weeks/months.

If all goes well, I'm planning on getting there and playing in the media event. I have a friend who can get me a pass, but won't be able to make it himself. I believe that's either 1 or 2 days before the main event starts, so there's a good chance I'll be there.

And yes, I'd love for you to buy me a beer sometime.

You'd have to let me reciprocate however.

I suspect that could be arranged.

The Media Event kicks ass! I'll be in again for sure.

Mmmmmmmmmmemories of Shannon Elizabeth floating through my head.
