Default Does this happen to everyone?

If so how the hell do you beat low limit games?

This just happened at Full Tilt so I don't have hand histories but the following is a good example of what happens when I get near a ring game. I re-read "Winning Low Limit Hold Em" after a tough run in MTT's and SNG's thinking this had to be a way to build up some cash and sat down determined to play perfectly and not give away even half a bet in the SB.

Second hand and I posted when I sat down so I am not the SB but three off the button and I get QQ, I raise get like 6 callers and flop comes TJK rainbow and it checks to me so I bet to see where I am and I do have a str8 draw, two callers, 3 on the turn so I bet again and same two people call, river is a Q, probably one of the last cards I want to see. First guy bets, second raises and I have to muck my useless set of Q's. These two idiots cap the river so they cam pay as much rake as possible and turn over A7 and A6 to split with str8's.

These two idiots didn't know it but they had exactly two outs going to the turn and river and I am sure by someone's math somewhere they were correct to call, blah...

4 hand later I get 88 and limp in with 30 or 40 other people and flop 78J, I bet out and get two callers, long story short guy with KQh called to the river and caught runner-runner for a flush.

Very next hand I get QQ and am not detered!! Guess the flop?!!? Q72, this time I only get one caller the whole way with 5-6d and of course he gets 8-9 on turn and river for a straight.

That was a quick $50, well not the entire $50, I left while the leaving was good.

The above is absolutly true and just happened, I know, I konw, these are the people who make playing profitabe, whatever.

These are the same people who manage to find my table. And this whole time, I thought it was just me.

My understanding is that they will pay out, but I haven't seen that yet, at least not to my bankroll.

One thing is for certaain - its making me play hella tighter which I don't think is helping my profits any.

Last night, I sat at a table and fold'd about 9 hands before I played one. Ended up winning and the other guy said "ohh look who decided to play all the sudden". I got a kick out of that....took the next one down and went to play a SNG.

Well, I am not sure I was playing loose here, even Lee Jones says to play a set fast.

Fortunatly (I guess) I am out of town at meetings for work for the next three days nowhere near a poker table, maybe it's just break time.

This is why low LIMIT hold em can be so frustrating. Many players call to the river with the weakest of draws because they can do so for only one bet on each street. That's why it's called no fold em hold em at those limits. You will get sucked out on repeatedly. You will make money off of these players but you need two things to do so.
1) A bankroll that can handle the swings, aka suckouts, for the limits you are playing.
2) Patience. Avoid going on tilt when you get kicked in the junk repeatedly.

If you have a hard time staying off tilt when getting sucked out on 2 or 3 times in a row, like me, take a break. Whether it be an hour break, or the rest of the day, it depends on your own personality. Find what works for you. Another suggestion is switching to NLHE. You can actually make people fold in NL.

My last suggestion is getting a copy of Small Stakes Holdem if you don't have it already. Winnng Low Limit Holdem is a great book, but geared more towards beginning players. Small Stakes is the "bible" of beating low limit hold em. Study it if you want to beat low LIMIT hold em.

Laptop went flying across the room (non poker related incident) recently and I am waiting for UPS to drop off a new one. Was hoping it would be here in time for trip, but no luck (or maybe it's a break).

Couple things... FT does have hand histories, check around in your C:Program Files/Full Tilt Poker folder, they should be in there. Second, have you tried the NL tables? At least on the NL tables I can force people off their crappy draws or at least make them pay heavily to chase. Give those a try, they've been very profitable for me.

I have to stop you right here. You're not willing to give up half a bet when it's your SB, but you are willing to POST what amounts to TWO half bets instead of waiting for the BB???

I think I've found a leak right there.

You need to turn the HH option on at Full Tilt, but they do have it now.

And those guys had more than two outs, in your first example, but yes, those were all horrible call downs. In the long run though........... blah blah blah.

LOL. Hopeless whining = quite amusing.

In answer to your question, suckouts will occur quite frequently at low limits, however these are the inevitable result of poor, beatable play. Just grin and bear it.
