San Jose got away with robbery here. This has got to be one of the worst trades made in NHL history. Not sure what the Bruins were thinking here, but if they had any playoff aspirations, they just traded them away.

Another move a dumb boston team makes to prevent them from winning a championship

So boston made a bad trade? How good are the other players and how good is this one player?

Thornton will be on Team Canada, possibly a first or second line center, the 3 going the other way won't be playing in Turin. Enough said.

Right... Because Boston was well on their way to winning a Cup this year?
Or next? Or the year after that? They saved $1,6 mil on the cap which makes it a great trade... They are in the "pre"Re-building stages... Expect some hard times in Beantown. When Thornton left he was quoted as saying: "I guess I was the problem" sarcastically refferring to the Bruins horrid season thus far and recent slump. Didn't Boston WIN Thornton's first game out, and the 3 newbies first game in?

You can't judge a trade by 1 game. At face value, this is a horrid trade. Boston's #1 centre now has 0 goals so far this season (Zhamnov). Bottom line, they traded their best player and certainely could have gotten much more in return.
