Default SNG when down to 4 players

This is where I have trouble and need some strategy help. It seems that the blinds are high enough that even the smallest mistake can put you at a big disadvantage. I don't like to tighten up just to limp into 3rd, but aggression at the wrong time can be fatal in these games. With the exception on the occasional really bad beat I almost always make it to the last 4, honestly, but I would say I only make the money half of those times. When I do get to 3 people I find it very easy to knock out someone else and get to heads up, it's just this 4-player action that has me beat right now.

Any help out there?

try pokerstars 6 handed sng's. two places paid, you start with 1500, blinds raise every 10min. plays more like poker than bingo.

I never read that article before. Foxes and farmers, seems interesting. I don't think I am at the point of being a sly fox, someday hopefully.

For the Europeans, Ladbrokes poker has now introduced 5 man SnG's. Which are excellent, games over alot faster then the 10-20 man ones where the blinds become really large and its gets a lottery on 50/50 hands all in.

so if you make the final four most of the time (say 80%), and you end up in the money half of the time you make the final four, it seems like you are in pretty good shape. making the money in sngs 40 percent of the time is a pretty resonable rate, especially if your win rate is good, and you just dont limp into third.

i would assume that your overall strategy is pretty sound if you do have these types of win rates, and you just have to accept somewhat that withblinds rising very quickly, it turns into a bit of a crapshoot at the end.

Eddo, I am doing better at cashing in SNG games, I play mostly the 10 dollar variety and I think we disagree on the 40% cash rate, or maybe it's just that I get a bunch of 3rd place finishes in the deal that hurt, or I am not cashing as much as I think, but I am just about beaking even money wise in the whole SNG world, maybe a little less. I think, especially at Stars where you get more chips and only 9 players it is pretty easy to get ot 4 or 5 players as long as you realize K-T is not a good hand against 3 raises. It is amazing what I get called with when I am holding the nuts, amazing.

I've deleted a few of these, but I'll leave this one, in case anyone is wondering why this idiot was banned.

haaaaaaahahahaha!

With that said, we did get a handful of good posters in here, so in the long run, it was worth it. A huge headache, yes, but if even a few of these peope stick around and become regulars, I'll be happy. Surely oput the 100+ new registrations or whatever it is, we can get 5-10 new decent posters, no?
