Default Stakes

Along with various tournaments, for the most part online I have been playing 1/2 NL and 2/4 NL, with occassional dabs into 3/6.

I make frequent cash outs and the last 10 or so days has been (although good in live play) horrible for me online and my account is running 'low' on funds. Right now Im sitting on slightly over $600

Can I not play the stakes Im used to with only this much in the account right now? (Id obviously not like to redeposit unless I go "broke", which Ive been fortunate enough not to in in a long time) Should I try rebuilding a bit with tournament play or something else first?

Note to self: To prepare for swings in NL play, cash out less and leave more in your account

I think you have to look at it objectively and "define" your bankroll. I only have a couple "g's" online right now due to some cashouts, but I still consider my roll to be much larger because I could easily put it back in if I had to. If you have your roll offline and are willing to deposit more of it if need be, then by all means, play your game.

Edit: I guess the exception is if you feel like you are "buying in" short, which obviously is something you don't want to do.

So, in summary: If you can redeposit and you have enough to buy-in and not play short stacked, PLAY ON!!!!

What shab said.

Those are pretty much my views exactly. I certainly don't keep my entire roll online, but I know it's there if I need it.

Of course, never having to make another deposit online is somewhat important to me, so I keep that in mind.... not as much with regard to the limits I play, but more so with regard to how often and how much I cash out.
