So you have a 1200 dollar bankroll and are playing 2/4 limit. Does anyone put limits on what amount they lose in a night? Like ok, I will lose 1 buyin or 1/2 buyin, or if the night starts looking bad I will stop at 1/2 buyin and play a few SNGs or anything like that? Just wondering. Obviously when your close to the 300xBB rule at a level losing a couple buyins on a bad night can be frustrating. Curious what kinds of blocks people try to use and how effective they are for them.

I don't...
I'll keep playing as long as I am playing well...
If I am losing a tonne, then I will take a small break, and check my HHs, pokertracker or whatever, to be sure I'm not just throwing away my chips...
As long as I'm playing strong poker, then I'll keep playing...

I buy in with 30BB and if I get down to 10BB I'll usually leave (unless the table is especially juicy in which case I re-buy so I have exactly 30BB again -- I just like the starting point).

Ah... the $1000 mark. Isn't that a fun one to reach? I remember how ill I felt when I hit it the first time. It's still annoying, but doens't bother me like it used to any more.

Isn't that amazing? How over time, your brain adjusts and learns to accept variance as a part of playing winning poker?

Definitely. I've posted about it before.

I still remember how I didn't want to tell my wife the first time I dropped 50 bucks, lol.

Now, she knows how to check my PT stats!!!!!!!!!

Default Its funny..

I can remember back when I was a good boy, and grinded it out at the tables. The first time I played 1/2 or 2/4 it seemed like SO MUCH MONEY. The blinds WERE HUGE.. the POTS WERE AMAZING.. I guess you can never go back..
