Default True-Poker Warning

I wanted to wait until my cash-out was completely out of this site.
Although, the site is kind of neat and the players seem to like to go deep into a pot with just about anything, something spooked me Friday Night.
It was approx. 3:30 in the morning and I had just logged on...
I had just pulled up a $3-6 table and was just watching to see if I would sit down, when I received a message from "truehostRich" one of the hosts....

It said "Please don't bet"....

This was mid-hand, and as I had just sat down I could not tell what exactly was going on..
.
I can not think of any reason why this message should have been sent.
It works as a private message system so only I could see it.
When I asked around the table if anyone else received it no one responded.

Perhaps, I am being paranoid, but I am concluding that the host was helping a friend and accidently clicked my name as I had just brought up the table....
I received the message almost the instant the table came up. I can see no reason for this message.

I immediately put in for a full cash-out and will not be back at this site.

Just a warning, and take it for what it's worth, but I'm not chancing this with my cash.

ChipFish.

That's very interesting.
I think it's a pretty good site. I like the avatars and it's a bit slow but I dont like playing incredibly fast anyways. The people are nice, I've had some nice conversations.

I've played there since March and haven't had any problems and I'm up about $4000 playing 2-4 and 3-6. As you said people go really deep to the river and if you have the nuts its a huge payoff.

I really did like the site...
And the money was great, but I don't know...
I might just put in a little bit at a time if I go back.
We'll see.

For now, I'll pass.

unfortunately, i think that this type of stuff will become more and more common as the number of sites grows bigger. i think that you have to be very careful about where you put your money online, because not all of the organizations are going to be run honestly.

i say just stick with the big, established sites. they have much more to lose if some type of dishonesty is found, so i think that they are actually operating pretty legitimately.

James, that reminds me of that time on UB.

I think it was you who had come to my table to watch me, and some PitBoss or something typed in "Call" in the discussion. I said WTF, and I think it was you watching who said I saw that too, as did the entire table. After continuing to play about 15 minutes, they apologized for the error and said it would not happen again. But it makes you wonder. Anyway, I can't complain, I remember having a decent session after that.

Yeah, I remember that,
There was a big stink about that, it was actually broadcast over every table on UB.

Shortly thereafter UB had mega problems with their re-buy tourneys...
After the re-buy period was over, you could still re-buy.
Even at the final table.

Interesting story, but I think it's speculating a bit too much to assume some host was trying to help a friend of his. Seems odd. What limit were you playing?

I thik you should email them (send the HH if you can get it), tell them your concerns, and ask for an explanation. If you get one, post it here.

$3/6 Limit.
I have no idea what Hand# it was, happened too quickly.
Without all this information, I am not saying this was going on....
Only that it could have been.
It would strike me as odd, as this is a relatively established site.
However, I am willing to err on the side of caution, and removed my money
from their site.
I am by no means suggesting anyone else do the same, I just wanted to share
my experience.
This way people can make their own decision.

And I do have good things to say about them too, just to show I am not biased.
I really did like the interface (although too darn slow),
And the players were very weak, which is a great thing.
Sit-n-gos were very easy, as were the multi-tables(only 15-20 signed up at a time when I was interested though)

I don't play TruePoker, so I'm having trouble understanding what exactly happened here. What is a host, and what role do they play? Just the person who started the table? Or is it the equivalent of a site admin?
