Default Bodog...

This is directed to those of you who are Bodog members, and especially those of you who play poker there...

I've heard of Bodog for years, of course. I know they are one of the premiere online sports books. I never bothered to open an account with them though, because I was always happy playing at Intertops.

Well, at the WSOP this year, they had a huge presence. It was obvious to me that they were making a big push into the poker market. When I got home, I signed up for their affiliate program right away, with the intention of checking out their site, but forgot all about it..... until last week in Aruba. That's when P0ker H0 was telling me about the BIG overlays they have in their guaranteed tourneys. He said it was even crazier a couple of months ago, with them often having to DOUBLE the prize pool to reach the guaranteed money, but he said pretty much every tourney STILL has some sort of overlay these days, especially the big ones.

Well, I went ahead and opened up an account yesterday, and I must say, the site looks promising. I don't love the software, but they run a lot of WPT/WSOP satellites and it looks like the have a lot of overlays too. Given the success of their sportsbook, I wouldn't be surprised for them to be one of the poker leaders in the next couple of years.

One more thing I like: I deposited $1000 and got an instant $100 deposit bonus. The money is in my account and I can play with it immediately.

I don't know how many cash games I iwll play here, but I'm definitely going to keep my eyes open for these huge overlay tourneys, and especially the WPT satellites.

So, for those of you who have played there, what do you think? How are the games, etc?

Here's my link in case anyone wants to check it out:

The more I bounce around their software, the more I like it.

They have a $100k guaranteed tourney running this coming Sunday. It's a $100+9 buy in and currently has 12, yes 12, people registered. I realize that's a lon ways away, but somehow I don't picture them getting the 1000 players it would take to avoid an overlay.

I'm definitely going to have to keep an eye on the tourneys here.

Just signed up for the 8:30 $7500 guarantee tourney tonight. I want to take the software for a spin and see how I like the tables...

410 players and counting, btw. $11+1.

It had a big overlay - only 572 players. I was only half paying attention - I was on the phone - and busted out 352nd when I pushed with top pair and got called by 2 pair (whoops).

I don't love the interface, but I like it enough that I will play the big tourneys that have big overlays, for sure.

One thing you have to be aware of is that you can't make a withdrawal until you've cleared the entire bonus which is probably only an issue if you have a small bankroll and are moving it around from site to site.

Now that they've dropped their standard bonus from 20% to 10%, it's probably not as big a deal anyway.
