WPT: Grand Prix in Paris or something like that
I have been watching this, and this is perhaps the best poker episode I have ever seen, bar none(maybe that one with Ivey a month or 2 ago, I dunno). But its heads up with this Surinder guy and Tony G the resident psychology player. I don't know if you guys have seen it but did you see the play down the stretch was pretty bad on both sides.....

It really amazes me just how good Tony G is at needling, but on the other side, he ruins it by calling all in's with 10 8, J4 and the like. If he could combine his psychological prowess and not give into the gamble so much, it'd be tough(er) to beat him.

yep, I thought he was pretty good at it, but then again I also think you could use it as a tell. On that one hand with his impressive bluff that Sunder should ave one the tourney on, when Tony got called, he absolutely stopped talking and looked like someone stole his lolipop. To me, it wasn't acting either, and I don't know why Sunder didnt see it. On the other hand, Sunder should not have lost control of that hand to start with. But you are right, if Tony G had not called with that J4 against Sunders Jacks, he should have won that tourney. Whatever, they're pros so I suppose they know what they are doing.

They usually know what they're doing, but I think that tony is one of those personalities like Mike matusow that has the brain power to play incredibly, but also has that adrenaline and testosterone that keeps them from being great.

To succeed at poker you need a balance of intelligence AND heart (among other things, of course). He was VERY clear that he had the heart, but showed an inbalance of the two with those last few calls, IMO.

Well I'd believe he was very intelligent, but I think adrenaline takes over for him. Like fighting in a bar. Nothing good will come of it, but there's thousands of them everyday.

Tony G was hammered in that episode. When the lovely Shana was interviewing Marcel Luske about Tony G's behavior, Luske said Tony should get a warning and a cup of coffee. I figured that had something to do with how moronic he was acting. Great entertainment though.
