Default I bet I lost more than you did tonight!

Can anyone beat $1431.92? I didn't think so!

Damn, that was a rough night. 10/20 6 max, btw. It started with the clowns sucking out. Then I got to play a bunch of maniacs who had their occasional night where they POUND you (it happens) and just can not be beaten. When I was down just over $1000, I logged off in disgust, and then noticed I was 14 hands shy of clearing my $100 Party bonus. I figured I'd go ahead and finish that and not have to worry about it. Those hands cost me $410 more! Are you kidding me? 3 SICK second best hand in a row. Trip Ts King kicker vs. Trip Ts Ace kicker (I had flush draw too), Q high flush vs. K high flush, and my personal favorite: AK flopping trips, losing to a 2 out full house on the turn (77 and he spiked a 7). DAMN.

So yeah, that stung. Fortunately, I've been killing this game lately. Let me tally up the damage....

Sicne I deposited on Saturday, my net win was a whopping $158.80 plus the $100 bonus = $258.80 total. That's funny. Had I broken even on tonight's session, my total number would be $1690.72 - you know, like 7 times higher than it ended up being. Gotta love it.

Sick as that session was, I still think that's the game I should be playing right now. With just AVERAGE luck, I would have probably been down a bit tonight ($200-300), but in the long run, I think I can kill that game.

Yikes... That sucks....
You should play more like one of the guys at work's son....
He never loses..
Apparently he makes $thousands every month and has "NEVER" lost.
He doesn't play online though because people have programs that can read your cards....

TP, don't you have rakeback? People who play 6-max at higher limits make less clearing party bonuses since they don't offer rakeback. Find a deal on Empire or Eurobet and make way more than $100 over 1K hands.

I don't think this works out to be true. I think the rakeback is more like 6 cents per hand. Let's see.... If the average raked hand is a $2 rake (I really don't know) and the average number of players is 5, that's .40 per hand and 25% of that is .10 - so that's the breakever point. I believe my guesses for the $2 and the 5 are a bit high and low respectively, meaning it actually would be a better deal to get the bonus, albeit barely.

Right, but rakeback is always in play, not just during bonus periods. So now weigh your bonus hands vs. your overall total hands and apply that to your bonus payback. Unless you're ALWAYS clearing a bonus, then I think rakeback would be the way to go. Also, you can stay on one site and not chase other bonus promotions all over the INTARWEB.

Is rakeback only profitable for limit players? I never play more than 2 tables at a time.

I'm not sure I follow.... Why not play at the RB site when there are not bonuses to clear, but (Assuming you earn more per hand) play for the bonuses when they are available?

I forgot that the rake for 6-max capped at $2, at 10-20 6-max with a $3 max cap rakeback would be better although only slightly. I think badblood may be thinking of someone with a small roll, who doesn't have the ability to move funds quickly, or he could be thinking of sites like absolute where bonuses and rakeback occur at the same time (I think). Heres an article on rakeback from ZeeJustin if you don't feel like reading it, it basically says not having rakeback is losing you money a (potential) lot of money.

Here's a thread from 2 + 2 where this has been discussed:

I reckon that means that even when you have a rackback deal, it is still more profitable to clear a bonus when possible. If you generate less rake than the bonus, you still get the bonus. If you generate more rake than the bonus, you get the bonus plus rakeback on the difference.

Default Lots of 'em

It kind of depends on how you look at it. Certainly Pokerchamps does. I’ve, ah, ‘heard’ that various affiliates over similar deals for Empire, Ultimate Bet, and many others. I’m sure somebody will send you a PM.

"Affiliates," eh? Well well well... Isn't that interesting.

Offering rakeback is against the TOC of the affiliate agreements, but I can tell you for a fact it happens all the time. How else can you explain so many people getting rakeback?

PM me for a better explanation... especially if you are someone who plays a lot of online poker.

Default Actually, for me...

... it worked out pretty good for me:

The two major bonus sites (IMO) are Party and Empire. Stars is too few and far between, but they are offered, and other sites seem to difficult to clear to be profitable.

I get rakeback at UB and EuroBet (a Party Skin). It works out well that I am able to take advantage of Party / Empire bonuses w/out it affecting my rakeback money at the end of the month.

The main problem I have w/ Party+Skins is that they do not offer $2/4 6Max. What is that about? Was that ever discussed? Fuck, that's annoying. The jump from $1/2 to $3/6 is FAR to drastic, so I'm going to have to find something in between.
