Default Election Time: Choose Your Moderator

A few days ago, , to see who would be interested in helping Moderate the TPF. I'm looking for an objecive person, who is willing to help me keep things in order, while not abusing his power. Instead of me choosing blindly, I decided to put it up to a vote. I will have the final say, of course, but I will give serious consideration to the results of the vote.

So, if the candidates listed in the poll would like to argue their cases here (easy on the mudslining, fellas - that's not very moderator like), please feel free. And for everyone else, it's almost "Election Day," so don't forget to vote!

I'll close the polls in a few days - probably Thursdayish - and this Sheriff will have a new Deputy then.

Hey, I was the first vote. ChipFish, you're running away with this thing already .

Vote ChipFish, I am his new official spokesman.

Thanks Geoff!
And as my official spokesman would you be able to let me know where I can
get a campaign sign for my lawn?

Good luck all.

What's that? The voting? I wasn't expecting it to be a landslide, as it seems to be shaping up to be.

I was referring to a picture posted in a previous reply that was since deleted.

The voting is a fine idea, I am holding steady at zero, I don't deserve to win if I can't convince myself to vote for me.

Besides, I may lose the popular vote, it's the electorial college that counts.

I haven't voted yet.... but you are not making a very strong argument for getting mine. Glad you're honest though.

TP, you should have held off the elections so that we could have legitimate campaigns first. not that i am running, but that could have been hilarious.

of course, that would have led to a whole lot of off topic posts that you would have had to pay for, so i guess there are drawbacks as well.

Getting tight, James, watch out.

I have now passed Aquetis (I think I spelled that wrong) in total posts, second only to TP himself. And I didn't register until 1 week after Aquetis.

I will be closing this poll tomorrow.

I wonder how many concession phone calls ChipFish can expect in the next 24 hours. Maybe there will be recount demands instead?

Congrats, Mr. O. As your first order of business, prhaps you could get the NHL and its players to sit down and iron out a new CBA.

Or maybe just moderate Jackass and Aquites in their bitter feud (and I know Aquites, I spelled it wrong again).

Edited to Add: Now that your a moderator, I believe you should have a large boob as your avatar .

Moderate me. Please.

This guy just has a bone to pick with me, and I could care less, but it's slightly annoying. I'm sure you could agree.

EDITED TO ADD:

Let me clear up the trouble with typing and (saying?) my screenname.

Aequitas is Latin for the American word, "justice." "Equitas" is also used in certain ecclesiatical sects, but it is not as popular as its counterpart. You may have seen the word "aequitas" in the movie The Boondock Saints. Also in this movie was "veritas" which, as some of you know, means "truth." Why did I chose the name? I studied latin throughout college and 1 year in high school. Right now, I'm in the process of finishing law school, thus "justice." Besides, latin words are kickass.

Pronouncing "aequitas" is easy. Phonetically, I would suggest one of two ways of pronuncuation:
(1) A'-qwee-tas, or
(2) EK'-wee-tas
Whichever you choose is based on personal preference. [10 points if you reply here with a message containing "a-qweer-tas"].

So that's it.

Oh - why the 58? I dunno, it's a cool number.
