Default Home game suckas!

I have a game to play at this evening with a bunch of friends who arent close to serious poker players. The buyin will probably be $500, oops two extra zeros, and it will be a complete craptastic fishfest. BUT, this is my first time playing live since i left school about 3 months ago! Im stoked, wish me luck.

I play in a home game 2x a week, with about 7-10 players on average, most of which are decent or better players.

There is another group of people who play sometimes, that are all horrible -- sometimes I'll join. But its like playing a completely different game

There are few folds preflop
My PFRs are much larger than usual when I have monsters
I'll limp in with strong but not that strong hands Id normally raise with simply because I'll most likely be called, and opponents arent likely to lay down on the flop if they have much.
I'll bluff extremely rarely (this even includes CBs) usually only if I have a read that a player missed a draw he was chasing and he will fold on the river.
I wait for big hands and then play them very strongly.

I wont win everytime, though I'll usually finish in the top few people. The problem is when you lost most of your ability to push someone out of a hand that is bad but better than yours, you lose some of your game -- then you have to adjust and play differently

But good luck, win the baby pot, and laugh at other players ridiculous actions!

All you can do, walked with 8 bucks after quality holdem session and then the crazyness (follow the queen etc.) ensued, and the money in front of me went down.

Some ridiuclous dealers choice games which are more luck than skill that Ive played when just bullshittin before

Good and Bad

Black Chicago (the 2 out of 3 one, no the high spade in the hole one)

Crossfire

I forget the name but the one where its 7 card stud, and 7s are wild if they are under but if they are shown you automatically lose the hand

(and theres always 5 card stud)

PS: My fav one -- GUTS

Anaconda, kings and little ones, firey cross (not crossfire), Chicago, king with the axe and 1-eyed jacks, oh those were the days.

Luck is involved, but experience in these games is just as important.

I love high chicago, thats the one with the high spade in the whole. And of course, when no one is interested in skill anymore, I turn to guts, a great game.

GEOFF, splain some of those games you named, I am always interested to learn more interesting non-holdem wild card/fun games.
