Yea, I'm jealous too. There, I admit it. Is that a bad thing? I hope not. You're running absolutely red hot lately. GL staying in the "happy place!"
Conversation w/ my girlfriend tonight about you... (and normally I don't talk to her about "you people"): Me: You know that guy who sent me the hat for being a nerd and posting so much on his forum? Her: Yea I guess...? Me: He won a satellite tournament tonight. Her: What's that? Me: [explains what a satty is] The satellite sends him to Aruba where he'll play in a $9000 tournament for FREE. Free entry. PLUS, free airfare + accomodations for him and a guest! Her: Why don't you do that? Me: It's not easy. Besides, I don't have the money to play satellites. Maybe starting October. Then she follows up with... Her: Who's he taking? Me: I dunno - I don't think he has a girlfriend or a wife or anything... so who knows. Her: Think he'll ask you to go? Me: No. Then I just started laughing. She's cute. I think she's more impressed that you get a trip to Aruba than a free entry to a $9000 tournament which could be VERY lucrative if you place deep.

LOL
The WPT event is actually a $5200 tournament. The other $3800, I guess, goes towards flights, accomodations (8 nights at the Hyatt or Radisson), and all the other stuff they have planned - parties, gift bags, some tourney for ONLY the 400 people who qualified online whre the winner becomes a UB sponsored Popker Pro for a year, etc... It's going to be an awesome time. And yes, I plan to cash. Even if I just squeak into the money, it won't really be like breaking even for me - it will be like putting $6000 (or whatever it is) in my pocket. Hello! What's funny is I had emptied out my UB account a while back, before the WSOP, and Tuesday night, I threw $500 back in there, with the intention of playing in five $100 satellites for this (I actually had talked to Chip about these Aruba tourneys just this past weekend, telling him I wanted to take a stab at this along with the WCOOP stuff I've been doing). When I saw they had a $20 rebuy last night, I jumped on it. First try. Wow. I played great, but I was lucky too.... Again, not lucky in the sense of sucking out (I can't think of a single one), but lucky in the sense of when I got to the final table as a short stack and pushed in with 99, I was called by JT and my hand held up (I made quads to beat his two pair). That's the only time that comes to mind where all my chips went in the middle as a coinflip or worse... regardless, I feel fortunate. The final hand, for example, we both got all in with top pair (K). My kicker was a T and his was a 2. HOW a 2 didn't hit the board on the turn or river, I will never know, but it didn't. And I'm going to Aruba! Oh, in case anyone is wondering... I did the math from the buy-ins, rebuys and add-ons.... it came to $8900. So thanks for the extra 100 bucks, UB! |

The prize pool will be BIG. Bigger than last year's I assume, just like every other event in the world. Last year's was $1 million for first:
My face will be on this page in a couple of months As for pros, I imagine all the big names will be here, just like all the other WPT events. |

WHAT? I didn't know that. Why in the world would she quit? Her replacement had better be smoking hot, as I expect to have some camera time with her...

UB Pro?
Any more details on this part of it? You'll get to play it, right? Seems like the prize for this could be pretty sweet as well.

Yeah, I was looking at that. In theory, I could still make it up for the Borgata, but with all these WCOOP tourneys I'm playing in, I'm not sure I'll even do that. TBD.

It would have been fun if we were able to enter a tournament together, but the way things are shaping up, I won't be able to play any events in September. Seems like you have your work cut out for you, either way.
Lucky bastid.
