New Book. Suggestions?
My girlfriend wants to order me a new poker book so that it'll be delivered by the time I get back from taking the 3-day bar exam. She's awesome. I don't know what to get...
Harrington on HE Vol 2 OR... Matthew Hilger's Internet Poker OR... the options are endless. What do you suggest, and why?

The Bible.
Because gambling is just wrong.

If you haven't read Small Stakes Hold Em yet (Ed Miller), get it. Seriously. Learn to crush the cash games.
I have yet to read Harrington's Volume 2, but if it's half as good as Volume 1, it will be twice as god as any other NLHE Tourney book out there... so that's a great selection too (for tourney play). You really can't go wrong with SSHE though. |

Lou no likey the limit cash games. So, I say Harrington.
I've got to get both of those volumes. But, as always, SSHE is the bible for what we (TP and I) do.

Maybe I should look into SSHE. Anyone else?

LLHE by Jones
I have heard several opinions stating this first, then SSHE. then reread over and over ................ |

LLHE was about the 10th book I read. I recommend it to new players without hesitation, but for experienced players like Aeq, there is no reason he can't move straight to SSHE. In fact, I think it would be a much better book for him than LLHE. While Jones' book was good, I honestly didn't get that much out of it....

I agree with SSHE. I own it and it's great. I need to read it more though, it's been awhile. I've only heard great things about Harrington's first book, haven't read it though. That's the next one on my list to buy.
