High limits....soft?
Was just interested to see how the players were so I observe a 10/20 NL game here on pokerstars....I watched for probably about 20 minutes....wow it was some real weak play. Mostly everyone folding preflop, a standard 3x preflop raise picking up the pot honestly 80% of the time uncontested. When there was post flop action, without seeing anyones cards, I found myself telling the players in the hand what to do...tells were ridiculous and obvious here....ie bet on the flop then fast check on the turn....fast check on the flop.... simply checking 2x when you didnt have anything...betting 20 dollars when you are bluffing....Minimum raises preflop, minimum raises on a post flop bet.......i mean it just seemed like a bunch of novices with money......when a pot was contested it was a hand like this
PokerStars Game #1664267968: Hold'em No Limit ($10/$20) - 2005/05/09 - 02:52:59 (ET) Table 'Pollux II' Seat #9 is the button Seat 1: Rekrul ($2236.50 in chips) Seat 2: H@££INGGOL ($1950 in chips) Seat 4: ZeeJustin ($1994 in chips) Seat 5: greedybiatch ($1200 in chips) Seat 6: B Buddy ($2028 in chips) Seat 7: MitchD ($4159 in chips) Seat 8: nilbuster ($502.25 in chips) Seat 9: NEBO ($449.20 in chips) Rekrul: posts small blind $10 H@££INGGOL: posts big blind $20 nilbuster: posts big blind $20 *** HOLE CARDS *** ZeeJustin: calls $20 greedybiatch: calls $20 B Buddy: folds MitchD: calls $20 nilbuster: checks NEBO: raises $160 to $180 Rekrul: folds H@££INGGOL: folds ZeeJustin: folds greedybiatch: calls $160 MitchD: folds nilbuster: folds *** FLOP *** [9d 5s 5h] H@££INGGOL leaves the table greedybiatch: checks NEBO: bets $269.20 and is all-in greedybiatch: calls $269.20 *** TURN *** [9d 5s 5h] [4c] *** RIVER *** [9d 5s 5h 4c] [2h] *** SHOW DOWN *** greedybiatch: shows [Kd 3d] (a pair of Fives) NEBO: shows [6c Ac] (a pair of Fives - Ace kicker) NEBO collected $985.40 from pot What in the world????? I don't know if it was the time, the specific players or what, but I honestly think I could of cut up this game in a few hours.... I obviously have no where near the bankroll to play in this game (400 min buy in 2000 max) but with play like this I was considering violating every rule known about both bankrolls and never buying in for less than the max, and throwin down like $500 and seeing what happens....but I didnt Seat 2 seemed to know what he was doing and made a few good moves, and obviously the mitch player was up, but he was playing very very tight, so simply avoid hands when he opens would be enough i think.... everyone else just seemed way too novice like.....Alot of hands would be checked straight through. Then the cards flipped up were like A6 off, Q8s and other hands beginners may like but anyone with a little knowledge knows shouldnt be played.... I checked out another of the tables a this limit, and it was more of the same. If anyone does have proper bankroll to play in this, I would strongly recommend at least looking into it... like i said , i dont know if it was the time or what...but wow. |

ive seen similar play and asked myself the same question...always wondered if the play never improved no matter how big the rolls.

You could be right.
I know B Buddy plays that game regularly so he must be good enough to make money at the game and Zeejustin is awesome as well. Zeejustin was 3 tabling 10/20 NL and is a great tourney player, hes only 19 too. Not really too sure about anyone else at that table. |

well of course there are some damn good players there, but on the flip side, there seems to be some HORRIBLE fish that you could pick out of the crowd... just like you would at a lower limit.

there are always rich flounders in the higher limits you play.
Or poor carp if you play lower limits lol. |
