Default How are you doing it online?

90% of the time, I am playing 3 games or some type of tourney (multi, sng) and 2 cash games which keeps my attention on the cards, my notes and my chips. That is usually the set up for my daily 4 hr stretch. I try to get 4 hrs in daily with this setup, and it has worked well for me over the last 1.5 yrs now playing limits of 5/10 to 10/20 6 max and 10/20, 15/30 full handed. The other 10% of the time I spend playing online it is sitting 15/30 playing the top ten and surfin the net, much more relaxing (but not as profitable) as my 4 hr set up. What routines are some of you guys/gals in that has worked well for you?

What I find works (keep in mind I am a low limit player) is I'll play 1 .25/.50 or .50/1.00 O8B and then play 2 .01/.02 pot limit O8B games at once. This way, when I fold my .25/.50/.50/1.00 hand, I am not too bored that loosen up, since I'll play more hands in the penny games. Also, I generally win enough at the penny games to supplment my loss at the higher limit if I do indeed lose (not bloody likely).

Right now, I'm playing only one table because Pac Poker doesn't allow Multi. However, since I am winning between around 5 - 6 big bets an hour currently, I've got to start doing it. What sites allow it?

more than 3 tables at once distracts me... i like to play 2 SNG's at once with a $25 NL table.

if i am playing holdem, i usually play up to four tables at once. i use he mini view on ub because my monitor wont support four tables without significant overlap.

when playing other more involved games, i will only play two at a time.

Default Can't handle four-tabling

That strikes me as way too much to keep track of at once. If I'm concentrating well, I'll play two tables, my standard 2/4 and maybe a SNG, with music to keep me entertained. If there are other potential distractions --wife watching TV, phone calls, whatever -- it's strictly one table at a time for me.

I usually play 2 $50 to $100 NL tables at once so I can simply wait for big hands and try to make a killing.

If you need to watch TV to stop you from dying from boredom, you really need to find a better hobby.

I forgot about this "getting paid to post" stuff....
Free money is nice, but I'm not overly concerned about it.
I am sure they will cancel it when I get to the 999th post or one before whatever number you need to cash.

I only play 1 table at a time. Always nl, whether its cash games, sit and go's, the multi sit and go's, or multitable tournies.

I tried multiple tables, but then found myself losing information. I find it very important for my game to be paying close attention to everything. I also take copious notes, and i cant imagine doing that on 3 or 4 tables at once.

Basically, i only play 1 because i want to pay full attention to it...how many pots is so and so entering, for how much usually, is he cold-calling, raising, re-raising.... and post flop play especially...who will call a medium size flop bet, without obvious draws out there, to try and hit his probable overs.... I try to figure out who likes to play small-ball throughout the hand, and who is gonna blast away....try to follow every action cause it always paints a picture, and that info comes in very hand in later hands that i'm involved in

I always try to have a gameplan for every guy i might be involved with during a hand, and i lose important parts of the picture if i'm playing other tables...

I'm probably just repeating stuff most of you do, but i can't do it as much as i want to while playing multiple tables. And while playing only 1 table might on the surface lower my ev per hour, i feel it doesnt...in fact i believes it increases my ev per hour because im playing at my top level the whole time

Jimmy, just about every site will let you play multi, except I believe Pacific only offers 1 table as well.

If you can fit 2 tables on to your screen without the need to flip back and forth, you can still keep pretty good player notes. You can also almost double what you make now, which I know in my case would make a huge difference.

Well, you could always experiment with it during one session. You may find it quite profitable to sacrifice your notes for the extra hands you will get to see. I find it pretty much the same profit margin at this point, but with some more experience playing more than 1 table at a time I'm sure in the long run I can make it more worth my while.

Oh I've definately tried it...on more than one occasion. I figured the same things, that it would increase profit, all of that.

But i'm not playing limit, and the amount of hands i see per hour are not as important...in my opinion...as the way i play every hand im involved in, and the way I am prepared for future hands.

I mean, Im not knocking playing more than one table. But for me, i feel it increases my ev to remain totally focused on one game, and maxime my earn in that game. I think my game goes downhill play 2 nl tables.

If i was playing limit, i would definately play more than one table. Because in limit, if you play well, the more hours you put in, the more profit you make like Chip Reese says.

Basically, I think that if i play 2 nl tables at once, i am not playing my best game at either....and i dont think adding up two tables of my "b" or "c" games equals out to what i make playing my "a" game at one....especially at no limit, where mistakes can be disastrous.

Okay, well if you are having trouble winning at 1 table, try the beginners strategy, which is:

In a 10 player table, play only these hands before the flop and raise when it is on you:

AA
KK
QQ
JJ
10-10
9-9
8-8
7-7
AK
AQ
KQ

Other than these hands, fold everything else you see. Once you are comfortable playing after the flop, you can start playing other hands based on position or number of players in the pot. Keep in mind that pairs in a multi-way pot are actually less like to win than suited cards, so if you really want to play super-super-virgin tight, play only those AK, AQ, and KQ hands that are suited. But I warn you, if you do this you will be lucky to play more than about 5 hands an hour.
