rush poker
hey dudes (and dudettes) - so I'm back after a long absence (sorry about that). I've missed you guys and although I've been able to take a quick peek in here maybe once every other month - well - I'm glad I can make some time and get back into it.
rush poker - this is the reason I can play again. 2 tabling, 400 hands/hour FTW - and the freakin holdem manager HUD works awesome too! So I thought, for my inaugural thread I'd toss out a few quick observations on this game (as I've only been playing it for a couple of weeks). I started by trying out $10NL. I loved it right away - if you don't have time to sit down for a good long session this is the bomb. I started playing without HEM because I didn't think it would work (yeah, I've been completely out for a WHILE). Took me about 10 minutes to realize the most awesome thing about this game - everybody is screamingly tight (like 80's blue jeans tight). Everybody is folding everything (everything but AA apparently) and the best part? They're doing it before I even act! So I decided to try out a little experiment and see what would happen if... I raise every unopened pot to 4xBB - now some quick math, which you can feel free to skip... $10NL - 4xBB = $0.40 BB + SB = $0.15 per steal 3 steals = $0.45 So I need 3 out of 4 steal attempts to work in order to earn a nickel (yeah, it's just a nickel...). Here's what I found out - I'm stealing about 7 out of 8 blinds so I clear $0.65 every 8 hands (it's fucking BORING). I'm not sure if 3xBB will work, I tried it but with less success, but that may have been a blip I'm not sure. It also seems like you can win a good portion of the other pots with a CB on the flop - just depends on texture. I'd usually always fold to a re-raise, but I'd check my cards first I've tried this at some higher limits and it simply doesn't work - $10NL seems to have all the tightest of the tight wads. So this is really boring, but it's a lot like free money (just not very much of it really). Since that is so boring (and doesn't help at all with the bonus FT emailed me about) I've moved up to $50NL and am playing, pretty much, my normal game. Overall I do find the game to be a little tighter, and I'm playing tighter than normal as well - not on purpose, that just seems to be the way it works out. The hand volumes are great - I can sit for 30 minutes and get a decent volume on 2 tables. Mostly people play so straight forward that the game is pretty easy (which doesn't work out to crushing it, but at least I know where I am more easily). The swings are huge, but I'm pretty sure that'll even itself out when I lose some more rust and adapt a little better to the game. Well, that's all I have for now - any thoughts? |

I play 4 tables of Rush daily to get my Iron Man points, typically 2 tables of $100 NL 6 max and 2 tables of $200 NL 6 max. 30 minutes max.
I don't think I have enough of a sample to say how I would do in the game in the long run, but I don't think I am very +EV... at least at those limits, the tables are just filled with regs and really not that many fish mixed in. I'm sure it's softer lower and it's for sure a fantastic way to get your hands in and generate some nice RB. |

You can get some serious volume - I played one night last week for about 2 1/2 hours on 3 tables and scored 1200 hands! I haven't had that kind of volume in forever!
I also think there are lots of fish at 50NL - now if they would just stop sucking out... |
