What was amazing was the play really wasn't even that close. I'm mean, WTF?!?!? At least the guy manned-up and admitted he blew it and went and found Galarraga and apologized to him. But, dude, really?

Yeah, he really, really feels terrible about it (and rightly so). He was very emotional when taking the field today and Galarraga (100% class act, btw) handed him the lineup card before the game.

It's good to see both of them handling this sucky situation so well.

Agreed. They have both handled it really well. Funny thing is that I now know more about Galarraga and have more respect for him than I probably would have if he'd just pitched a regular old perfect game.
