Im new here.....

Is this the limits most of you guys play?

Firstly, thats awful luck JDMcNugent. But I am guessing you have plenty more where that came from right??

Secondly, i can't comprehend what it feels like losing at that level.

LOL.

Whats the average you guys play? From what ive seen alot of 3/6 and 5/5 live games. And the big tournaments too.

Im wondering what JD's bankroll is to finance this! From looking at old posts (which was simple, thanks to the owner for this being an easy to use fourm) he built it up from nothing???

Insane Christmas...

Really glad that guy kept playing me. Lost -60k to start Christmas morning to end +24k. I'll take it. I think that's the longest I've ever played any1 heads up.

Graph has EV in it to show how annoying my day started off.

For a noob to these kind of graphs, what is the difference between the 2 lines? Dark and light green?

And holy shit your Xmas must have sucked to begin with. Nice job turning it round.

Default Insane -- couple questions

JD, can you clarify -- was this 80k swing all HU against this same one guy?

Mad props as usual for keeping your composure when you were down that kind of money and clawing it all back.

Another question -- obv. you don't do stop loss limits, at least at anything in the ballpark of a typical grinder. And in this case it paid off tremendously. Is the thought "Alright, I'm not losing more than X" simply not part of your game plan, and you'll play as long as you feel you have an edge?

Dark green is what I actually won, light green is expected value of all in equity. so basically it shows i started off runnin real bad, being down 47k when i could have been up 7k if normal luck.

And no my christmas didnt suck it was really good. I lost the 50k before breakfast even and nobody ever has a clue if I'm up or down b/c it doesn't affect my mood at all. I realized I have pretty much completely mastered poker not being any impact on my life other than when I sit down to actually play.

2tone-
Ya it's all vs one person HU. We played 4 tables of 25/50. I had 60k at one table, it could have been more but we kept having to switch because he didnt have enough online so we'd start fresh tables. I had all my $ online spread across the 4 tables at one point, but obv we were very deep. Often 40k deep each on 1 or 2 tables at a time so it was a fun match.

And ya I don't have stop loss limits, I never have. If I have an edge I'll keep playing. Obviously if I'm down to like 50k I don't want to be playing 25/50 anymore and I might stop but if I really think I have an edge I still prob wouldn't. If I didn't have $ in the bank and stuff I would be way more careful. I got his account down to 30k before he quit, hopefully he can win more vs other people and he plays me again.

This is beyond awesome and I may make this my goal for 2009 as well.

Example - convo with finacee a few minutes ago:

Her: "Are you playing poker?"
Me: "Yeah."
Her: "Are you losing?"
Me: "No. Why?"
Her: "I can just tell by your voice and how you talk to me."

At the time, I was up about 3 Buy Ins, but has just lost 2 more to some annoying 2 outer.

I don't know that the beats and bad luck affect my PLAY (much, anyway), but if she can hear it in my voice, it's obviously having more of an effect than I thought.

BTW - nice Christmas!
