Default "How to make $ without risking $"

I'm not taking credit for this, but I found this today and I think it looks pretty good. Some of you guys should try this. Hell, I may try it myself.

Kurn - please give us some tips for this particular SNG format.

Oh, and the smart thing to do is obv register for the 5000 FPP turbo takedown FIRST - then play these (FPPs go straight to your account) and then unregister from the turbo takedown and get your 5k points back.

Anyhoo, read on:

Well ya thats what FPP's are. $ generated by playing that is translated into points. Fpps are technically worth $ since you can get all kinds of stuff from their store with them. So really you are risking $ too.

Dude, it wasn't my title.

The point is, this is a soft game where you should be able to fairly quickly accumulate a ton of FPPs (aka $, as you said), paying zero rake, with relatively little risk.

I suspect Kurn could absolutely destroy these games, and depending how many he played at once, could earn a LOT of FPPs.

I looked into these today. They don't seem to fill up as fast as the author suggests in fact the ones I saw took 3 or 4 minutes to fill up. I will give these a go later tonight.

Wouldn't these count against your rakeback though ? or not ?
When you spend the FPPs (whether for a $ tourney or from store)

Kurn - please give us some tips for this particular SNG format

Well, I'd say it's a 100% preflop game, and you're too shortstacked to ever play tight, like at the beginning of a normal SNG.

That being said, during the first level, in the 1st 2 positions, shove 1st in with 88+, A8+, KT+. CO and button make it any pair, any A, any 2 b'way, K8+. Call shoves with about 2/3 of your shove range.

After level 1, see how many are left, assess if you can if anybody is playing stupid tight, loosen up - 1st 2 positions shove 1st in with any pair, any A, any K, any 2 suited, unsuited connectors and 1-gappers 97+. Last 2 positions and SB open-shove atc. In the blinds, call with 3/4 of the EP shove range.

Just winging it here, but the above shouldn't be too wrong.

Please go play a bunch of these and tell me if you think this "system" is good. It seems crazy to me, but I suspect it's probably correct.

No big deal. Considering I played a few of these today you would think I wouldn't have started to research it to see if it affects rake on FULL TILT.

I was 2 for 3 but I am left with mixed feelings. First it took like 10 minutes a piece for these things to fill up. So there isn't a stream of people piling in to play them. Secondly I think Kurn's strategy is pretty good. In the 3 I played, I would say 3/6 each time knew how to play these hyper turbos. Also given the structure if you don't flop well then your done. The 2 that I won I was dealt paint or pockets pairs in 80% of my hands it seemed. The 1 I lost I my best starting hand by far was j9 sooted.

The thing is even if you play perfect strategy in these, they are still just coin flips. So I would be curious to see if someone can maintain a roi that makes these worth your time. However maybe as the Turbo Takedown approaches there will be more action in these games.

I would say this article is pretty off base just due to the amount of sng's that actually take place to what is written about. If they actually went off as fast the article stated then it might be worthwhile to play a bunch of these.

Update: I have watched a few of these today and there are a couple of guys (chrisal67,throxerion, and HHHUGO) playing in everyone. Chrisal67 has already won like 4 of the ones I have had open.

Starting stacks of 15 BB in level 1, then 7.5 BB 3 minutes later means NEVER put one chip in the pot with any intention of folding. If you do, in 6 minutes you'll have zero fold equity. Not that you have much anyway.
