I can not beat this guy...
When donks run hot, it's one thing, because they are donks and will inevitably give it all back - you just have to hope they will keep playing you. But when GOOD players run hot, I'm just envious.
This guy is a good HU SNG player... A very good one, in fact. He is one of a very few people that I will purposely avoid. He's better than me (against the field), but FWIW, I think I have a slight edge against him when we play each other. I feel like I'm pretty in tune to what he thinks I'm thinking, and I don't think he knows what I think he's thinking nearly as well. I still avoid him though, because I think it's just not +EV for us to be playing each other, and ESPECIALLY for me because of how he runs. Here's a fine example from the match we played tonight. FWIW, I beat 3 other guys while this match dragged on. I started off down after he called me with a weak TP when I was repping a made straight on the river (raise flop, check behind turn, "value" bet when oesd card hits river). I thought he'd lay it down, but he didn't. I built back up, and then this: Full Tilt Poker Game #5849660474: $200 + $10 Heads Up Sit & Go (44529363), Table 1 - 30/60 - No Limit Hold'em - 23:38:51 ET - 2008/03/30 Seat 1: acesneverlose (1,330) Seat 2: Troll Pie (1,670) Troll Pie posts the small blind of 30 acesneverlose posts the big blind of 60 The button is in seat #2 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to Troll Pie [6d 9d] Troll Pie raises to 150 acesneverlose calls 90 *** FLOP *** [6s 9s 2c] acesneverlose checks Troll Pie bets 180 acesneverlose raises to 480 Troll Pie raises to 1,520, and is all in acesneverlose calls 700, and is all in Troll Pie shows [6d 9d] acesneverlose shows [As 7s] Uncalled bet of 340 returned to Troll Pie *** TURN *** [6s 9s 2c] [Jh] *** RIVER *** [6s 9s 2c Jh] [4s] Troll Pie shows two pair, Nines and Sixes acesneverlose shows a flush, Ace high acesneverlose wins the pot (2,660) with a flush, Ace high The blinds are now 40/80 *** SUMMARY *** Total pot 2,660 | Rake 0 Board: [6s 9s 2c Jh 4s] Seat 1: acesneverlose (big blind) showed [As 7s] and won (2,660) with a flush, Ace high Seat 2: Troll Pie (small blind) showed [6d 9d] and lost with two pair, Nines and Sixes I built back up AGAIN (well, I was getting there), and then this: Full Tilt Poker Game #5849730393: $200 + $10 Heads Up Sit & Go (44529363), Table 1 - 40/80 - No Limit Hold'em - 23:44:59 ET - 2008/03/30 Seat 1: acesneverlose (1,920) Seat 2: Troll Pie (1,080) acesneverlose posts the small blind of 40 Troll Pie posts the big blind of 80 The button is in seat #1 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to Troll Pie [Kh Ts] acesneverlose calls 40 Troll Pie checks *** FLOP *** [2c Kd 3d] Troll Pie checks acesneverlose bets 80 Troll Pie raises to 200 acesneverlose calls 120 *** TURN *** [2c Kd 3d] [Jh] Troll Pie bets 360 acesneverlose has 15 seconds left to act acesneverlose raises to 880 Troll Pie calls 440, and is all in acesneverlose shows [Qs Qc] Troll Pie shows [Kh Ts] Uncalled bet of 80 returned to acesneverlose *** RIVER *** [2c Kd 3d Jh] [Qh] <-- Whore. acesneverlose shows three of a kind, Queens Troll Pie shows a pair of Kings acesneverlose wins the pot (2,160) with three of a kind, Queens Troll Pie: oh ffs *** SUMMARY *** Total pot 2,160 | Rake 0 Board: [2c Kd 3d Jh Qh] Seat 1: acesneverlose (small blind) showed [Qs Qc] and won (2,160) with three of a kind, Queens Seat 2: Troll Pie (big blind) showed [Kh Ts] and lost with a pair of Kings Can you imagine what it would be like to play well AND run even better?
