F Poker Stars...
I realize I'm not a huge affiliate or anything, but I think this site has supported Poker Stars pretty darn well over the past three and a half years. We've had dozens of private tourneys there, four full blown leagues, and so on. When people talk about where to play, Stars is always very near, if not at the top of the list.
Well, fuck 'em. After having repeated emails about setting up the Tournament of Champions for our latest ignored, I really pushed the issue on Monday and someone finally did it. Apparently, this was done outside of the affiliate department, because I got this message from them today: They are sounding more and more like Party Poker and their BS every day (Party Poker REALLY screwed me over a while back, in case anyone didn't know). I realize I'm just one guy running one small affiliate site, so I'm not exactly going to make a difference in their bottom line, but from now on, whenever the option presents itself, I'd like to go with instead of Poker Stars for private events we run. My response to them: If they don't want my business, fine. |

Very poor business decision
Wow – way to fail to realize an opportunity. Granted, the TP community is relatively small, but it is made up of … online poker players. The small number of referrals doesn’t take in account the high volume of play TP forum members put in at Stars every month. For a site that used to distinguish itself by its care and attention to its customer base, this is disappointing.

Hmm, I feel a little less bad now about the $5.50 I blew on missing the last league tournament putting me at about $1 there, oh well.
