sore
Beat: I live close the lake in north east Milwaukee, we got a little more than 16 inches of snow yesterday.
Beater: do to a unfortunate series of events, best described as 2008 taking a giant turd over a few of our good friends and neighbors, I am currently responsible for shoveling out 4 houses. Beaterer: around 9pm last night when I thought I was done, I got a call from a single mom I know to help her shovel. She lives on a corner. So I went over there and dug out her two sidewalks and driveway. Beatererer: Got up at 5:30 and dug everyone out after the wind blew all night and the plows fucked up everyone's driveway. Then I walked my kid to school and finally I think I am done. Beatest: my back, arms, and shoulders. Brag: I don't live in that laughingstock of a fucked up place known as FL. Over 16 inches of snow, digging out 5 house, in Milwaukee for christsake, and I still think TP and RD are tools for living in FL. |

Uh.....what!?!? Have you ever been to Florida?
Sounds like you need to invest in a snow blower |

All I thought after reading that is where the fuck is the beat for not having a snowblower in northeast wisconsin?

1. There is NO excuse for not having a snowblower when you live in Iceland.
2. I'm GLAD (so very, very glad!) that tards like you think Florida sucks for whatever reason. There are enough people here already, so please keep telling your friends that it's too hot in Florida, and they are better off freezing to death for half the year. P.S. Suck on this 10 day forecast, will ya? |

You love the 'its too hot in florida' argument.
Funny how people that live in frozen tundras never say "its too cold" where they live. If it weren't for family ties - i would move to florida/arizona/vegas/etc asap. I can deal with a month of it being 'too hot' to have 11 months of beautiful weather. People say stuff like "it gets so hot you have to stay inside for the airconditioning!" I doubt that anyone is picnicing and hanging out at a beach in december when its 3 degrees out and there is 10 inches of snow. What is the difference between being 'trapped' inside when its cold and when its hot? Other than when its hot you are not really trapped inside. I have never had to shovel my sidewalk because its too hot. I have never had to deal with horrible road conditions because its too hot. I have never had to trudge in snow for whatever reason because its too hot. I have never had frozen pipes because its too hot either. |

Ahhh... memories of PA. Like the time I came home from a business trip to find my basement flooded because a pipe froze and burst... good times, good times.
You're exactly right. And the funny thing is that for MANY of the days (I won't say "most," but "many") when it's "too hot" here, it's "too hot" pretty much everywhere. I love the days in July.August when it's actually a few degrees cooler here than it is in PA. But really, whether it's 92 or 95 in heat of summer, what's the difference? It's freaking hot either way. Winter on the other hand... when you're comparin 25 to 75... now that seems significant to me. but I'm crazy like that. Now if you will excuse me, I'm going to go bike to the beach wearing my usual attire (shorts, tshirt, and sandals) to watch the space shuttle lift off. I know you might fear that I will catch a chill, but it's 85 outside right now, so I think I'll be ok. Funny thing is, this is about the "hottest" it will get for another 3 or 4 months, probably. Usually the highs are in the mid 70s this time of year. |

It does suck here... for example, yesterday I ran on the beach at lunch and I only saw two girls in bikinis, I mean WTF?!?!! It was nearly 80 yesterday with beautiful sun shine and there's only two freakin' bikinis out??!?? Fuck this place.

I am constantly working on my wife on a southern migration for our 'golden years' (which will be a bit sooner for us since we had our kids while young). I worked her to the point where she has agreed to the Carolinas. I just got to keep at it - just like a slow grind in poker. There will be some variance and downswings (i.e. the few nice enjoyable winter days here, the 4 or 5 very nice fall days that i actually enjoy as well) - but its all about the long-term.
The beach is my pocket As in the hole - she likes the beach. I am counting on that. I would be just as happy moving to the mid-west where its a constant dry heat. But, i enjoy the beach as well. |

as for my brag-I know it is the intrawebs and all, but irony fellows? I have my reasons for not liking FL, but I will give you the weather down there. I figured that you all would see my "brag" for what it was, an attempt to head off TP and RD before they could post some bullshit about FL.
As for the snowblower, usually I don't mind shoveling, esp anything under 10 inches. It is just a personal preference I guess. Anything more than that and I borrow a big ass blower from the little old lady down the street in exchange for blowing her driveway and walkway. Of course this week the old girl is away visiting grandkids and she locked the garage and forgot to leave a key. I dumped a shitload of water in front of her door, so when she returns the old bitch will go down and break a hip. That will learn her. On a funny aside, my 2 year old walked up to me as I typed up the OP and said "Please change my diaper Dad" "You go poop Si," I asked him to buy time and finishing typing. "Yeah, a big big poop!". I don't know, it struck me a funny to get that shit as I was typing a post bitching about the previous 16 hrs. |
