January Results
Won't be playing tonight, but thought I'd throw this out there, trying to determine whether or not bumping up limits again is financially worthwhile.
I play mainly Saturday and Sunday. Generally about 12-20 hours a week. This month I moved from .25/.50 right to 1/2. Instant results. I earned roughly $900-1000US this month, which in my money translates into about $1300. I think playing this amount of time at 1/2 and showing that kind of profit is remarkable. Just wondering, do I move to 2/4 or 3/6, or is this just an awesome payoff and should I not get greedy? I am as comfortable as it gets playing the 1/2 and think I pretty much dominate the 6 max ring games on PP. I'd also be curious to hear how other people are doing playing at different limits, different amounts of time, and what they are making on average. So, I'll say I played roughly 100 hours online, usually just 1 table at a time. Earning lets say 4.5 BB an hour. I assume this is good and should show that I am consistent? I just started keeping track of my winnings so I'm kind of new at this. I did mind you, have 1 losing session this month, $77, which is haunting me still.

Ive played 2/4 and 3/6 O8 on pacific and I know those games are just as soft as 1/2. Im sure that Party is in the same boat but cant confirm it. I would def. move up to 2/4 because even at those higher O8 limits, you still have some holdem players that just dont like to play the real micro micro limits.

I'd move up one level if I was you.... but with that said, you need to know that a one month sample is certainly not significant. That's still short term, for sure. I don't think you should move to $15/$30 and quit the day job just yet.

with your winnings alone from january you have an adequate bankroll for 2/4, so i would go for it. if you dont feel comfortable, drop down and delay the move for a while.
i made the move from .25/.5 to 1/2 this month full time, and the biggest change for me was just getting over the feeling of playing with more money. once i became fine with that, i found that the play wasnt any better at all. |

Thanks guys, I think I'll wait it out 1 more month.
Eddo, I made the same move, with a brief buffer stop at PP .50/1 just to clear a bonus. I know what you mean about the additional cash, but in all honesty when you move to PP, I immediately noticed the ring games are 10 times as weak, and therefore I prefer having more money on the table. I did end up playing Monday night, and in all honesty, I only dropped $30, but was greatful for this. It was without a doubt the worst 2 hour string of cards I have ever received. In any event, thanks again guys and TP, I'll see you at 15/30 later, .
