T$ and W$ on Pokerstars

How do these things work anyways? I see people selling these tickets all the time on rpg.

Can you use the FPP to enter those satellites and if you win the tourney, just sell the value of the ticket to others?

Tournament $ on pokerstars is quite simple, if you win a place in a tourny through a satalite tourny, you can chose to not play and then the $ are transfered into tournament $ which you can use to play in tournaments or sit n gos, if you then win the money is classed as $ which you can then either keep in your account or withdraw.

Lately though Pokerstars have announced a no withdraw clause in some of the major tournys, which means you have to play or you lose your $, so if you enter a satalite to a major tourny, lets say in Europe you have to take your place as you can not transfer into tornament $ or sell your place. It is best allways to check the rules for each tournament just incase you win a place in a big torny through a satalite only then not to be able to compete.

FFPs satalites work in the same way, if you reach a major tourny place you can then withdraw from the tourny transferring the $ into tornament $, again though Pokerstars seem to now add in some tornys that you must compete.

I enter alot of low $ satalites to the Sunday major game on pokerstars and then if I win a place I transfer the $ into tournament $.

Tournament Dollars (T$)

As the world's largest online tournament site, PokerStars is proud to offer a unique Tournament Dollar system. When you qualify to any event through a satellite (excluding the W Dollars events discussed below), you have the option to unregister from the target event and receive Tournament Dollars. These Tournament Dollars can be used to register in any other PokerStars tournament, including Sit & Gos, and satellites. If you win multiple seats to the same target event, the value of these seats will be automatically credited to your Tournament Dollar account.
Many events will not allow you to unregister until one hour prior to the event. In that case, you may email support to have us unregister you immediately. Please include your User ID, and the tournament number you wish to be unregistered from.

To check your Tournament Dollar balance at anytime, please visit the cashier window through the lobby.

W Dollars (W$)

In addition to our Tournament Dollars, we also offer special W$. W$ can be used to register into any qualifying special PokerStars event.

Special events currently include:

PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA)
European Poker Tour (EPT) - click here for more information.
PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP)
When you win a seat in one of the W$ special events, for example a seat in the 2005 PCA-WPT event in the Bahamas, you must play the event and will not be allowed to unregister. If you win multiple seats in the same event, the value of these seats will be automatically credited to your W$ account. If you win a seat to a satellite for a W$ special event, you have the option to unregister from the satellite and receive W$. W$ can be used to register in any W$ special event.
