look at this graph
ok a friend sent me this graph, it is not his but he wanted to know what I thought.
here is my origional opinion, the guy is a nit. As you see he is very very tight and his aggression is horrible. He is a basic calling station, I like that he is tight in his blinds but hate how his aggression in $1 NL river is so high. he is a basic calling station, any other opinions?

Well, it's not a graph. That's all from me.
Carry on.

It's not a huge sample or anything, but I think it's enough to draw some conclusions. Looks like he's playing Full Ring, so I'm not as familiar with the numbers as I would be if he were playing 6 max... but, IMO:
He should be raising more preflop when he's playing a hand. You didn't include his positional stats, which would probably be really helpful to look at for full ring, but I'm guessing he's not being aggressive enough preflop. Hi postflop numbers look ok to me. I couldn't call him a calling station by any means. 20% WtSD looks ok, and his street by street aggressions factors look ok too. If anything, I would say he's not aggressive enough on the flop and too aggressive on the river. I'm not sure why his numbers come out like that, but it's almost as if he's either checking or folding on the flop when he misses rather than CBing and he might be slow playing a lot until the river too, and then he finally comes out betting/raising. Generally, this is backwards, but it might suit his style. Lastly, I think his W$@SD is also a bit on the high side, so I'm guessing he's either been running good and that number will come down, or it supports my theory that he gets off hands on the flop when he misses. I don't think that's necessarily the best way to maximize profits, but if he's happy grinding out almost 10 BB/100 (and he should be), great. I'd tell him to keep playing (maybe raise more preflop) and check back in when he has a 50k or so sample to look at. Also, his positional stats would be helpful. |
