World Offshore Poker Tournament...
I haven't been out on "the boat" for about three years now. I just might change that to play in this though:
Looks pretty interesting. They have sattys throughout the state (ahem, Reel Deal). The final tourney is a $1000+100 buy in with 100k guaranteed to the winner. I'm not sure how they know the exact payouts already, unless they are expecting the fiel to be capped, but they are planning on paying the final table (10 players) between $4500 and $100k. I see something about "230 finalists," so maybe that's the cap. If so, that's an awfully small percent of the field they are paying, but I guess that's what they need to do to get that $100k prize for first place.
The tourney is scheduled to run from Noon until 9 with 30 minute levels. It doesn't list their blind structure though.
The biggest drawback - Say you get busted around 2:00. You're going to be stuck on the freaking ship for 7 more hours!
Yeah, the more I think about this, the less interested I am.
