All they would have to do is create an account.
The General Discussion section is still private - I assume those are the posts you are referring to. I basically opened up the poker stuff. |

I'd have to agree with sjay on this one.
I rather liked the idea of the privacy aspect of this forum. If people are really interested in remaining a part of this forum, they'd sign up from the start. Suffice it to say, it might urge them to register if they had a peek-preview first, hence the public viewing. I did refer 7 people (as it states in my profile), where are they now? They registered and disappeared, so what difference does it make? I think the way to attract new members would be to make the site attractive. By this, I mean...have a weekly low buy-in tourney, or contest type tourney (where you have to come into this forum, *maybe to have a chance at guessing the answer to a question or something*, to be able to be a part of the tourney), freeroll, etc. Trust me, if they are really interested, they will take the time to register. As for me, I will be removing a few of my attachments/pics, when I return on Monday. |

I cant believe this is discussion!
SJay - Your family can just google your SN see that you post here and take the 2 seconds it takes to REGISTER, and then read everything if they really wanted to Bunny - WHO CARES? Random strangers can see your pictures as long as they sign up and register, but if they don't register then UH OH! They MUST be taken down! I don't get it Point being is that for new posters to become part of the community, they would need to follow whats going on in the forum and then become interested and want to post. I think like Storm said, that if I hadn't been able to read the posts I wouldn't have signed up either. Final thing, you guys realize that the forums were NOT private always right? I This is a fairly new idea, so all these HORRORS that you may be subjected to, you were already subjected to them and everything has turned out ok. Freerolls and low buy in tournies aren't the way to gain more members. Well more members maybe, but not respected ones for the most part (I mean no offense to low limit and or freeroll players here, its just players who come here for that reason typically come play and then leave, while contributing nothing to this forum except for "I always lose with AA") IMO the way to gain more members is more exposure, followed by more serious poker discussion, so that they people who do come across the site will see interesting discussion going on (current news, strategy, tough decisions etc) and want to become a part of it.

Not all of them Zy. Only the ones which include my friends.
Trust me, I don't have a problem with showing a few pictures of myself. I've changed my PokerStar's avatar, dozens of times. If that doesn't bother me (and most of the world sees my picture up), why would posting a few pictures on a small community forum? TP - Please try to understand. I don't mind leaving the ones with me alone or with family posted, but the ones with friends need to be either removed, cropped or blurred out. I was in the wrong to post those pictures, which included friends, without their permission. Some of my friends are very much against posting their pictures anywhere online, and even though I'm not as sensitive as they are to this issue, I would like to respect their wishes. My mistake for posting them, without their permission in the first place |

You're 2143. Just hover over your name and you'll see it in the Info bar at the bottom of your browser. Or actually click on your name and view your profile, and you'll see it in your browser's address bar (at the end of the http:// line).
