Default What would you do, seriously.

If this happened to you playing in a WSOP event. I know I would be pissed, but I dont know if I would totally flip out, or kinda just laugh it off. Not cool, imo.

TP, Mayhem etc.?????????

Not sure exactly what event, and where the update was posted, but this is from FCP.

Protect Your Hand When Gavin's Around
In early postion Gavin Smith moved all-in and Jon Friedberg started thinking about calling. Friedberg has been deliberate in his decision-making, and he took his time separating out the amount he'd have left if he just called. It was a measly stack of around 10K, which Friedberg joked were his "bluffing chips." Before he had made any move, Smith reached over for Friedberg's cards to have a look for himself. Some minor commotion was raised, with Smith saying "You should protect your cards if you don't want anyone looking at them." Friedberg eventually mucked.

I'd call a floor and Gavin would get a penalty. Simple as that.

If the betting was reversed (Friedberg had moved all in and it was on Gavin to decide) and Gavin did this, his hand would be dead no?

Of course. And he'd probably get an even bigger penalty - potentially disqualification from the event, I would think. Cheating is frowned upon in all poker tournaments, including the WSOP...

Default how is this even a discussion?

How is the floor not called over and a penalty given? Even taking the betting order into account - maybe the thinking player does not want Gavin Smith knowing what he is folding. Maybe the thinking player has a pretty big hand - and doesnt want Smith to know that he laid down a big hand (which could lead to later bullying).

I usually mind my own business when i am at a live table - but i would have spoken up here even if i was not in the hand and called the floor over. I guess lately i am getting less and less patient with people that are good at cards thinking that they are better/smarter/above etc than everyone else.

Default disbelief

Wow. I can't even imagine. I guess "professional" does not indicate "professionalis" in this case at least. If no floor was called, what the hell is going on with the rest of the table or even the dealer for that matter.

Geez.

Keep in mind, we are reading this like 3rd or 4th hand or something. It is VERY possible this is not even close to how this went down.
