Where I'm staying...
Brag: Huge bed, living room, dining room, kitchen, big bathroom, washer/dryer, two tvs.
Beat: No internet in room. Wireless in lobby, but they seem to have some sort of content filter on. I'm surprised I can even get here. Oh, and I can't send email and the people here are too retarded to understand what an "SMTP Mail Server" is when I ask them. I figured it out on my own (smtp.west.cox.net SHOULD work), but it doesn't work. |

You SHOULD be able to send through the SMTP server for talkingpoker. You may need to change the port to 465 (as opposed to default (110? 25?) and enable SSL. Actually, that may work for their SMTP too - it could require SSL on 465.

There actualy is no SMTP server set up for talkingpoker (or so I have been lead to believe). That would be nice, but it's never worked. It's complicated.
I don't know why I can't send through Cox's mail server though. That should definitely work. I'm running something called "Free SMTP Server" on my laptop right now, and then setting up my email to point to localhost. Seems to be working for the most part, but it's struggling with some addresses, so I don't know what the deal is there either. Problably because of authentication on the OTHER end or something. Grrrrr.... |

Just AIM'd with my server guy for a while... We finaly got mail.talkingpoker.com to work for me. It never used to work, but has finally been set up.
So, I think I'm good to go... other than having to hike to and sit in this lame lobby. Thanks for the help, RR. |
