Ego BAAAAAD (said in Frankenstein voice)
Wow, I am in a bad place the last 3 days.
I have repeatedly gotten into the same situation about 4 times. good hand bad spot thought" hmmmmmm given that last action, he has got to have me beat" he bets I call He wins thought "Yup, he had me beat" None of the situations would be considered "great reads". I have just been falling in love with my hand and really want that pot. The other parts of my game have been okay, but I have not been acting on my reads due largely to that desire to take down the pot. Any poker zen on this one or is just the poker "slap in the back of the head" that I need?

ok
1. once you put money in the pot it is not longer yours, it is the pots money.
2. losing 1 pot is not going to kill you, let it go. 3. if guy is continually betting you out, continue to let him do it and wait for a good spot where you can trap him. being able to lay down big hands is one of the hardest things to do but to be a good player can do it. |

This is a great quote, not just for this thread, but to illustrate one big difference between limit and no limit. In big bet poker, the ability to lay down a big hand on the river is crucial to winning. In limit, the propensity to lay down big hands to pressure on the river is a huge leak.
