Default this is my point

with all the morons I expected to get some bad beats and not be involved in all 4 at once unfortantly my good hands held up and I lasted with all 4 then I got aggravated with the 7000+ people in the pigs one so just sat it out. Im broke right now so cant play for real money. I really only like playing tables in real in life and sticking to tonaments online (free rolls are great practice) players actully get pretty good after 1st hour.

In freerolls the game gets better as the tourney progresses, at the beginning there are alot of maniacs.

The only FR's I thought were good, are the ones on Prima, where you need a raked hand requirement to get in. those are good, seems like the player value the play much more, and there are several hundred players, not several thousand.

Before I started playing cash games on PS, I would do their freeroll at midnight pacific time. At the time, I thought it was great experience and yadda yadda yadda.

Then after playing real money for a few weeks, while doing the occasional freeroll, I started to realize just how much of a time waster these are. I'd just get sooo bored and go all in every hand after getting a large stack .

Cheers,

Gutzz

The freerolls on Pokerstars must be one of the biggest waste of time. YOu have to beat a field of a few thousand to make the final table, just to get a chance to enter another tourney of a few hundred, in order to win a few bucks. Seems like a lot of work to me.

Default Waste of Time.

I think their freerolls are capped at 6000 (at least the "Hubble" ones). Like you said, you win a seat in another tournament where first place is $100. The cool thing about Stars is that they are having this MEGA Freeroll (12/26) w/ $100,000. First place is $20k, and 270 places are paid.

Lou do you know any of the details on Stars' mega freeroll on the 26th? When does registration start and is the field capped, and do you know if theres any raked hand requirement for entering.

The Stars Hubble freerolls are bad, but has anyone here played in AbsolutePoker's $25 freerolls? These are ridiculous on a few aspects. Only the top 5 out of a capped field of 1500 get paid. And what makes even less sense, at least to me, is that 1-5 all get the same amount, $5. It just doesn't seem very logical to me.

Now as far as bad beats go, this is the bad beat forum after all, I just had one put on me in one of the said AP freerolls.

Blinds are 20/40, I have roughly 2300 in chips. Folded around to me on the button. I try to steal the blinds with Q8o by tripling the bet, SB folds, BB calls. BB at this point has over 2000, 140 less than me to be exact. Flop comes K68, BB bets 40, I call with middle pair. Turn comes 8, giving me trip 8s, he bets 40 again, I raise to 600, he pushes in, I call. He flips over K3, sure enough the river is one of his two outs, and my 8s full of Ks boat is beat by a Ks full of 8s boat.

that sucks.... why are you trying to steal blinds when they are so low though? you have to raise more than 3x the blind to get someone off of almost any hand, because it is so inexpensive to call. the amount of money it takes to steal at such a low level isnt worth the money youre trying to steal. i wouldnt try stealing at all until the blinds are at least 25/50... just personal opinion though.
