Its his first post - maybe he needs clarification.

A 'bad beat' is typically referred to as a beat where someone gets lucky against you (sucks out) in some crazy manner or if they were making a bad play. It doesnt necessarily have to be a 'bad play' by the opponent for people to cry about their 'bad beat'. For example, you have AA and flop is rags. You bet and opponent calls. Turn is rags - you go all-in and he calls and shows you KK. Not really a bad play by him - but river is a K. This would get posted as a 'bad beat'. Now same situation with the rag board and the guy has bottom pair with five kicker and calls your all-in turn bet and he catches his five - that is also a bad beat.

Your 'beat' was more of a bad-timing/unlucky thing.

i really dont get the point of posting bad beats unless they are ridiculously bad or for alot of $.
if i posted in this section, or anyone else who plays alot of tables at a time and therefore gets a lot of hands in... i would have prob about 5 posts of "bad beats" a day.
i usually never even look at this section, i think it'd be alot more productive to just see if u played the hand correctly rather than posting about just how much more unlucky u are then the rest of the world.

Most of us are on the wrong end of bad beats all the time and see it not as a bad thing; I go so far as to say that bad beats can be a sign that you are playing well. Some players suffer a bad beat and it throws them off, they get really pissed at the cosmic injustice of it and go on tilt. I see the purpose of this section as posting your bad beats and being able to then let them go. If you are prone to holding onto bad beats and letting it affect your game, you can come to this section and post the hand and leave all that negative energy here.

niether is a bad beat.
1st hand you should of saw that coming
2nd hand is a lost race . a race you were ahead indeed

A bad beat I consider as follow you flop a boat and some ass clown calls your allin and catches a bigger boat on the river.
also flopiing quads and some other assclown catches better quads by runner
runner now thats a bad beat

Wow when did being a 4:1 favorite become a race? I'd like to race you sometime.

Strangely enough you gave me +rep for this and said "ill race ya qqvsaa anytime online"

Don't get me wrong, thanks for the + rep. But do you mean you'll take QQ vs. my AA anytime online? Because it's rigged or something?

Agreed. Leave the negative energy here, in this section, where people who don't want to see it can easily choose to ignore it.

really good point, i actually used to feel alot better about bad beats after telling someone about them to. so i totally get it, i guess i just dont need to anymore.
if its gonna help ur game by posting them here and forgetting about them, then its something u should def. be doing.

i guess i was just trying to say, that ppl who actually beleive bad beats and bad luck are the reason they are a losing player overall, as if they are somehow unluckier than the rest of the world, those ppl are only fooling themselves and hurting their bb/100 in the long run by tricking themselves and blaming bad play, on bad luck.
basically exactly what the article ZY just posted said.

FINALLY, I understand how you are able to make so much more money than the rest of us. You take 5 "Bad Beats" (and I'll assume that means pretty bad, like 4:1 or worse sucking out) per day.... I think I take about... oh.... 5 times that many on a typical "day" or poker. I probably take 5 every couple of hours.

Luckbox.
