Nikki would be able to tell you more about clearing bonus at UB but she's doing quite well at it. It's SLOW as hell, but rather efficient. She's playing small stake limit HE. The MAIN key to clearing the bonus is to make sure that YOU are the first person to sit down at the table. That way, you get credit for "starting" a table and earn extra UB points.

I'm sure that Nikki will chime in here when she gets home from work tonight (or maybe tomorrow - depends on how tired she is).

Mmmmm, shirtless bunny...........

In other news: Go buy a freaking poker book. Then read it. Then apply what you have learned and see if you can beat the low limits on UB (or better yet, elsewhere).

UB is most definitely not the best place to bonus whore. The bonus dollars don't expire, but most people consider them completely worthless because of the amount of play required to clear them.

After you read your book, I suggest you try 100% bonus. It's also slow, but not as bad as UB and the tables aren't as tough either. It's also a much better site for cash games. UB has a great tourney structure, and I like their non-Hold'Em games (Pineapple. Triple Draw, etc), but you won't catch me at a Hold'Em cash table there... ever.

Edit: I'm moving this thread to the Poker sections, since it's about... you know.... poker.

Yeah, I've been playing at UB lately just for a lark (I don't feel like playing with my real bankroll right now, saving it for the TP league). I've been playing the super micro limits (1/2cent and 2/4cent) and seeing what I can do and how much I can make with the bonus dollars. It is quite tedious though. And if I was serious about making money with poker, it's just not worth it. On average each session is earning me a couple bucks (winnings and bonus dollars combined). I think I've made about $20 in two weeks!! But as Rob says, the key is to start the table and get an extra 25% in bonus. And limit is definitely the way to go as well, NL is much harder to get UB points (at least at low limits). Make sure you also play tight. So even if you are having a bad run at cards, if you can last a long time at the table, the points you earn can equal more bonus dollars than what you bought in for (of course, this probably only works for micro limits). But more often than not, because I'm tight, if I'm in a pot, I'm taking it down.

I've been multi-tabling 3 at a time. $1/$2 Limit HE. Mixed it up with a few $.50/$1, ever since the losing streak. Didn't know about the extra 25 % for starting a table. Thanks for the tip.

I'm thinking of cutting my losses and leaving. I'm down $100 and that's including my (only) $45 bonus. For every 1 UB Point, I lose about $2 in blinds alone. Doesn't making bonus whoring sense, to stay.

I don't know about the comment about Full Tilt being good for clearing bonus'.
I am currently getting killed.
And am extremely short bankrolled, now, tryin to work my way back. (Started at $600 and only cleared $170 of the $600)
Some of it(the losses) was, admittedly, my fault.
A lot was some pretty tough competition at $2/$4 limit holdem 9 person tables.
Any advice on the best tables to play at Full Tilt to try and clear the bonus is much appreciated. (Probably a bit late, but if I get myself in better shape I will try your advice)

The higher you can play, the better.
