He's not carrying an entire team at Wrigley. As the season wears on and he feels less pressure to perform you'll see him go on a tear or two.

The only reason for that is Maddux got hit on the head by a ball, and thinks it is 10 years ago and hes back pitching for the Braves.

Thats the ONLY reason.

Has anyone thought it has something to do with the fact hitters are no longer on steroids ?

Oh, and for the person that said Jacque Jones is a good hitter, I think the Cubs would be happy if he hit .260 and 20 HRs, he is definately no middle of the order guy.
