Personally, at these limits, I won't play pocket 4s in early position. I'd rather fold then limp because there are too many people who will play anything. Even if I did limp, once it was raised, I fold. I don't want to be acting first with this hand. Even at higher limits, I'd probably play the same way.

on that hand, there was a raise to .06 (3xBB) and there was one caller. I am a pot odds guy, so you are getting over 2 to 1 on that hand (including blinds) so i dont mind that call, being that i would have probably have made the call to hit a 4 on the flop. I don't mind the play on the flop, but there is a flush AND straight draw out there...so protect against that flop by betting about the pot. If he happens to call (assuming hes on the flush draw), the turn was a marginal card to come. Again, i would bet the pot here since there are too many draws out there.

I dont do stats but 2 to 1 is not enough to call for +EV. Even then, you should have bet harder and faster at such low limits.

![]() I disagree with this! at this limit I will run ANY pocket in ANY postion for the main reason that if you hit your set you will most likley bust someone. I will play this same way all the way up to $25NL because people overplay there hands at this level and will put all there money in the middle with TPTK. I will also call raises with any pocket for same reason, now im not going all in with it but small raises I will just because of my implied odds. |
