LOL, I own three movies, two of them have been referenced in this thread. Now someone throw in an Oceans 11 reference and you will have my entire library.

TP, if and when we meet up, we can play some pool.

This offer is open to anyone I meet on this forum.

would be an interesting match for baytree, if YOU play from gold or black.

If you choose to play from the blues at baytree, well need to shave 3 strokes off the 50, or I play at The Creeks, link above.

Note that Prairie Creek is the toughest public course in the state though, so I fully expect to shoot in the high 70s. Advantage to you Id say

I would much RATHER play from the Blues, obviously, but the Gold's are almost a perfect match with the course you suggested:

Baytree Gold: 6557 yards, 129 slope, 71.6 USGA rating
Prarie Creek White: 6574 yards, 129 slope, 72.9 USGA rating

I dunno.... I'm tempted to give up the 3 strokes now and play from the blues

Prarie Creek sounds nice - great prices too. Must be nice.

I cant think of the Hustling Pool movie, but it was fairly decent

At the end the guy offers his opponent (a pro) who's faced with a very tough game winning shot ( a certain amount of money) for his shot.

Im being kind of vague because I dont wanna give it away -- but anyone know what Im talking about

Looking over the course now, this would be an EXTREMELY difficult hole for me to play from Gold:

Then again, I might not clear it from the Blues either. I may have to "go around" (follow the cart path) which is an interesting strategy for a Par 3

I forgot about this hole too (agai:

There is quite a bit of garbage to clear from that tee box - and this time, there is no way around. No worries.

Another problem hole for me:

Forgot about this one too. HUGE problem:

More holes where I iwll need a decent drive:

The final hole is gonna be brutal too (it's much worse than it looks):

All in all, Baytree is going to be a tough course for me, but I still think this will be fun, so I'm game if you are

Its up to you, my offer is 50 shots from gold or 47 from blue Your pick.

And yeah, the only reason I dont play Prairie Creek as often as I used to is because its a ways away (hour drive, thats a bit much for playing 3 times a week). The people are really nice, and old Hogan Rountree is a character. Oldest teaching pro in US that still gives lessons, VERY good at what he does. He taught Davis Love II how to play golf!!! (yes, thats the second, not the third)

Dont underestimate this course though, if you dont bring a perfect driving game, you lose a ball a hole, missing a fairway = deep woods.

Considering where you live and as often as I get to Atlantic City I would say we can make this happen.

Bring your "A" game though, you'll need it, I won't dissapoint you.

EVERYBODY plays 9-ball.

I'll play pretty much anything, though to be honest I would need a brush up on one-pocket strategy, but I would play play a match like this:

1-pocket race to 10

Straight pool to 150 best of three

9-ball race to 10 as the tie breaker if needed.

If you are worth a damn as a pool player, and since you suggested 1-pocket I assume you have the edge there, the edge in straight pool goes to me (in my mind anyway) and 9-ball between even two average players can often times go either way.

I think we should make this happen, I will be out that way again in September.

I'll have no problem matching up with you - it will be fun. Problem is, I don't start working until October, so I think it's silly to get up the details now. (Game / money / etc.) I'm sure you can see my dilemma. Put it on the back burner for now. In the future, when we meet up, we'll have to find a table to suit our needs.

What kind of cue do you shoot with?

I agree, no need to get specific right now, just got me thinking since I haven't played a money game in close to 10 years. Brought back memories.

Currently I play with a Helmstetter that is identical to the third one from the right in this picture only I had a Predator 314 shaft made to fit it about 5 years ago. I have a meucci that I use as a break cue, but the ferulle needs some work that I have been putting off.

By the way, TP, feel free to practice a few putter drives beforehand, if youre gonna beat me at this, then I really dont care if you practiced or not. It would be impressive to see someone shoot a 120-130 with nothing but a putter, range time or not.

I appreciate the gesture. And I fully intend to do just that (break 130 and hopefully 120 and maybe even 110).

So........ are we on? For $50? Are you cool with us both bringing non-forum witnesses/scorekeepers? We will be keeping score by the book, of course - no "Winter Rules" or anything like that. Sand traps are going to be interesting. Maybe we'll get a few days of no rain before I play (not likely).

I haven't decided yet about the 3 strokes or not, but I'll let you know ahead of time, of course. I'm leaning towards just taking the 47 and making things a bit easier on myself.

So, I went out today to play my round. Went ok on the front nine, shot a mediocre 39 (lots of missed opportunities). Then right as we made the turn, thunder started moving in pretty hard, so we had to quit.

Its up to you now if you want me to just play the back nine now or restart a full 18, just let me know.

I would say just play the back 9.... Then I'll do likewise if I end up having the same problem (which is likely, living in Florida).
