With Lou and a few of the other old guard MIA, I think it would be helpful to get some new members. Would it be worth cherrypicking from 2+2 or the blogosphere, sending personal invitations to quality posters/writers inviting them to contribute?

I think that is the best idea I've heard yet. I'm not active in any other poker communities, but for those of you who are, send out some personal invitations. Don't spam mindlessly, of course, but if there are people you think would enjoy this site and would be good additions to our community, by all means invite them.

i know this is probaly just a stupid post like all my others but what if ev1 could use the talking poker logos for there poker names might increase some members and some guaranteed tourneys for members only.

The General Discussion section is still private - I assume those are the posts you are referring to. I basically opened up the poker stuff.

I'd have to agree with sjay on this one.

I rather liked the idea of the privacy aspect of this forum. If people are really interested in remaining a part of this forum, they'd sign up from the start. Suffice it to say, it might urge them to register if they had a peek-preview first, hence the public viewing.

I did refer 7 people (as it states in my profile), where are they now? They registered and disappeared, so what difference does it make?

I think the way to attract new members would be to make the site attractive. By this, I mean...have a weekly low buy-in tourney, or contest type tourney (where you have to come into this forum, *maybe to have a chance at guessing the answer to a question or something*, to be able to be a part of the tourney), freeroll, etc.

Trust me, if they are really interested, they will take the time to register.

As for me, I will be removing a few of my attachments/pics, when I return on Monday.
