Somewhat related...
The other day, I called a raise against a 50%+ VPIP player (with another player in the pot as well) from the BB with 67o (I think it was off suit). You can certainly make a case for a fold there, especially against decent opponents, but I knew I could easily stack this guy with the right flop. He's one of those who can't fold TPTK. I'm open ended after the flop. I check, dork checks, and the other guy bets. I call, dork folds. ![]() I turn the stone cold nuts ( ![]() ![]() ![]() He says nothing (there had been no chat to this point), but Mr. 50% VPIP can't believe I called a preflop raise with 67. He says something like, "nh and all, but can you explain to me why you would ever call a raise with that junk? It makes no sense. Blah blah blah." My reply: "Send me $50 and I'll explain it to you." I quite like that one, tyvm. Another (very, very good) player at the table LOL'd and asked me if he could use that line. My reply: "Sure. If you transfer me $50." I'm so witty. Seriously though, you probably had to be there, but it was funny watching this guy go on and on and on about how bad I must be and so on with me pretty much not even responding to him other than telling him I'd explain it to him if he sent me $50. At one point, I told him to send the OTHER GUY (the very good player) the $50, and if he did, I'd give him a 10 minute lesson if the very good player would agree give me a 10 minute lesson. |
