Were you silent the whole time or did you, or anyone else, at any point let them know you could see their chat?
This is the reason some of my friends don't like to play online poker, for fear there are dumpers and cheaters, if not chatting in chatbox, they will do it by phone or messengers.  PokerStars.

 Your friends shouldn't worry too much. Not much crap like this at the lower levels. Not enough money involved. At the higher levels, too many players will notice something's fishy. I even think the level this happened at is awfully low for cheating. Two people spending $152 for the chance to chop up $420?
