In case anyone was wondering what was going on for the past few hours:
----- Cogent Network Status/DNS Server Status Description: This is the Cogent network Status Message for 3:30 PM EDT, Monday, August 21st, 2006. At this time there is a fiber cut causing packet loss and latency to the Portland and Seattle hubs. Cogent's vendor has confirmed they are seeing an issue on this fiber bundle as well. This issue has been escalated to the highest levels of Cogent management. The next update will be no later than 4:30 PM EDT. Cogent Network Status/DNS Server Status Description: This is the Cogent network Status Message for 4:30 PM EDT, Monday, August 21st, 2006. At this time there is a fiber cut causing packet loss and latency to the Portland and Seattle hubs. Cogent's vendor has confirmed the cut and is dispatching a splice crew to repair. This issue has been escalated to the highest levels of Cogent management. The next update will be no later than 5:30 PM EDT. Cogent Network Status/DNS Server Status Description: This is the Cogent network Status Message for 6:00 PM EDT, Monday, August 21st, 2006. At this time there are no ongoing issues on the Cogent network. |
