My thoughts

I think your saying 9 people x $5 = $45 + $5 to make it an even $50. Right?
If so I'd suggest payout to be 1st - $25, 2nd - $15, 3rd - $10.
I don't really know about the chip count other than all should definitely get the same. More the better I say.
